Abstract:
The electron spin resonance of Cu 2+ ions in the high- T c phase of the Bi(Pb)-Sr-Ca-Cu-O system has been confirmed to appear above T c . Two components of ESR, namely, the relatively sharp anisotropic and the very broad isotropic ones, are observed in accordance with a previous result. Both of these spectra apparently disappear at the transition temperature T c . However, the anisotropic spectrum reappears at a temperature well below T c . The result is discussed in relation to the layered structure of the high- T c superconductor with three sheets of a CuO 2 plane.
