Abstract:
The Surface Water and Ocean Topography satellite mission is designed to enable the estimation of discharge for global rivers wider than 100 m When unconstrained by in situ data, discharge uncertainty is expected to be 〈 30% for most reaches, and to be dominated by systematic bias We expect discharge temporal variations to be estimated to within 15% for nearly all reaches globally
