Abstract: The bad quality of machining surfaces caused by the micro wear of pressing parts has been a very big trouble for the engineers over the past decades. In order to decrease the surface wear, the technology of heat treatment is used popular. Many papers about the heat treatment technology had been proposed. Especially, the deep cryogenic treatment has been used widely for the purpose of wear-resistance in the industry. Moreover, the method of using variations of surface magnetization to monitor the dynamic tribological properties between the metal pairs has been applied successfully by the author. Therefore, this paper is base on the above statements to further investigate the tribological properties of the tool steel by deep cryogenic treatment. It can be clarified for effects of different deep cryogenic treatment temperatures on wear-resistance of the tool steel DC53. Besides, the purpose of better quality and faster product speed of the pressing process can then be obtained.

Abstract: It is well known that damage caused by wear and tear of the mechanical parts always seriously affect the accuracy of machinery. It is very important to improve the material properties of the mechanical elements. Anti-abrasion can improve the durability of machinery and equipment, thereby enhancing industrial competitiveness. Hence, it is important to establish the key technology of wear resistance for the related industries. Since the aluminum-silicon alloys are commonly used on the conditions of severe fretting wear, it is necessary to improve the fretting wear resistance before they are used. Therefore, effects of T6 heat treatment on fretting wear resistance of the aluminum-silicon alloys were investigated in this study. The experimental results of this paper will be very beneficial to the future of precision machinery and vehicle industry to develop more internationally competitive products.

Abstract: As global policy has devoted much effort to promoting energy conservation and carbon reduction over the past few decades, low energy consumption and less pollution have become the future trends. Moreover, with natural resources gradually turning deficient gradually, it is very important for Taiwan to further establish key technologies from reprocessed natural resources as soon as possible. The special geographical features of East Asia have always displayed a large amount of rice husk, and therefore this paper investigates the green technology of thermoplastic polymerization with rice husk. This paper clarifies the adhesive wear and tribological properties to evaluate the anti-slip performance of the reprocessed natural resources step by step and uses a self-developed reciprocating friction tester with measurement systems. To monitor the tribological behaviors between the interfaces, the responses of friction coefficient are recorded during the friction processes. After each test, wear loss is measured by an accuracy balance and OM is utilized to observe the worn surface. Therefore, the anti-slip performance of the reprocessed natural resources can be evaluated and a better agricultural economy can thus be obtained.

Abstract: This paper presents a novel experiment method to investigate the microscopic mechanism of the oil film under the pure squeeze elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) motion. An optical EHL squeeze tester is used to measure the interference fringe patterns of the contact region. In order to show the dimple thickness clearly, the grayscale interferometry method is employed to obtain the film thickness map. In addition, the effects of squeeze speed, load, and lubricant viscosity on the dimple film thickness are explored under a quasi-static condition.

Abstract: Tinplate containers with high strength, good formability and corrosion resistance, has been widely used in food, beverages, grease, chemicals and other applications. In recent years, because of the significantly progress of tinplate container manufacturing technology, many tinplate cans have been opened in easy-open rings. However, a large number of food cans still use can openers as an important tool for opening cans. At present, in addition to the general traditional can opener is a single-edged knife in a lever manner, the other like roller, serrated or electric are driven by a gear wheel to rotate around the can to achieve the purpose of opening the can. Moreover, the wheel materials mainly are made from the stainless steels. To investigate wear characteristics on the can opener of the stainless steel of SUS 420J2, the experiments were conducted by the self-developed friction tester and its measure system in this study. According to the results, the effects of contact stress and sliding speeds on the wear of cutlery of the openers can be clarified.

Abstract: To transfer more power and use it in a heavy load environment, the contact surface between the ball and the track must bear great stress. The temperature always rises due to friction, which is more likely to cause problems of material deformation and fatigue failure. As a result, it will be a key technology to maintain a certain lubricating effect of the transmission components under the environment of heavy load and temperature rise. Through the analysis of friction coefficient and electrical contact resistance, the greases are used to test the lubricating effect of the transmission elements under the heavy load condition. The results will be helpful for the industry to use heavy load greases as a reference.

Abstract: Due to the booming development of the automation industry and the transportation industry, the mechanical components are prone to wear under long-term operating conditions. To improve the wear resistance, effects of the rolling directions on wear of the aluminum alloys are studied. An optical microscope is used to analyze the crystal phase, and the correlation between the crystal grains and the rolling direction is studied. This study can therefore establish a key technology for improving the wear resistance of aluminum alloys.
