Kurzfassung: The used of additive enhance the surface of the membrane layer and can be choose from various material. Examples of commonly used additive in membrane are Polyethylene glycol, silica oxide, cellulose acetate and Polyvinylpyrrolidone. Silica oxide was proven have ability to minimize the fouling problem hence increase hydrophobic properties of membrane. Silica also can be extracted from rice husk ash, sugarcane bagasse, sorghum vularae seed and kenaf by precipitation method, biodigestion and sol-gel process. Silica extraction from sugarcane bagasse was chosen as the organic additive for membrane formation. In order to investigate the suitability of the material, several characterization test have been conducted. There are thermal, microscopic and spectroscopic analyses. Thermal gravimetric analysis was performed on sugarcane bagasse to determine the amount of silica that can be extracted from it. Results of TGA on sugarcane bagasse show that the peak temperature at 315.70 °C are defined as crystalline melt. After the melt transition, the baseline takings to a slightly lower position than the pre-melt baseline. The post-melt baseline changes slope as the sample begins decomposition while TGA extrapolated onset temperature of 241.56 °C as this sample decomposes. The analysis of microscopic shows that the addition of silica from sugarcane bagasse changed the surface structure of the membrane especially at top layer and sub layer. Sugarcane bagasse show bands for carboxylate (COO-) and hydroxyl (OH-) groups. The availability of negatively charged groups at the surface of sugarcane bagasse shows potential to be used as additive in membrane fabrication.

Kata Kunci: Pasar Tradisional Papringan, Masyarakat Desa Jambu, Fungsioanlisme   Abstract: Current globalization can not be denied that there are good and modern facilities that are very popular with the public. So as to be able to shift everything that is considered outdated by preferring and prioritizing things that are considered more contemporary. For example in areas that are currently competing to build a tourism business that presents a modern element with all the current facilities that can be enjoyed by tourists. Tourism development is a top priority as an effort to progress and increase the potential of the community and region. The presence of modern tourist destinations that carry Papringan traditional markets by incorporating Javanese culture as an effort to preserve and introduce to visitors, became the main destination of activists in Jambu Village. All forms of actions taken by the community according to Parson have goals to be achieved. So that by utilizing and developing all the potential that is owned, the village has now become a tourist destination that is visited by many tourists both from within and outside the city. The existence of traditional markets also provides opportunities for women who incidentally are housewives to be more independent in meeting family needs. In the current era of modernization, it is considered to be easy to be able to promote all the uniqueness and privileges that are owned by the tourist village. Keywords: Papringan Tradisional Market, Jambu Village Community, Fungsionalisme.

Kurzfassung: Scrubber is widely used in various products, such as cosmetics, facial cleansers, and soaps. The use of scrubber releasing 209.7 trillion microplastics would harm the environment due to lack of process in treatment facilities. Efforts to substitute plastic-based scrubbers with more environmentally friendly materials need to be made. In previous studies, substitution scrubber with grape seeds has been done but has a low viscosity. This problem may be solved by using bacterial cellulose (BC) in the manufacture of bio-scrubbers. Several methods are currently being investigated to produce bacterial cellulose microparticles, such as mechanical methods using high-pressure homogenizer (HPH), acid hydrolysis, microbial hydrolysis, hydrogel fiber cultivation, microfluidic process, and ultrasonication. This review recommends the manufacture of bacterial cellulose microparticles by ultrasonication method. The recommendation is based on the literature study that has been carried out. The ultrasonication method has more advantages than other methods. It does not use solvents that pollute the environment and increasing the number of bacterial cellulose microparticles. The synthesis of bio-scrubber from bacterial cellulose ends with the drying process of bacterial cellulose microparticles. This review recommends the ambient pressure drying method. The ambient pressure drying method can produce bio-scrubber with high crystallinity, high mechanical properties, and transparency.

Kurzfassung: A two-stage thermal upgrading process with the addition of 10 wt.% sodium sulfate and sodium chloride followed by magnetic separation was conducted for treatment low-grade nickeliferous laterite ore to produce a ferronickel product. The aim of this experiment was to investigate the effect of reduction temperature and holding time in two-stage thermal upgrading process, which was carried out from 950°C to 1150°C for 30 to 90 minutes, into the grade and recovery of nickel also the morphology of ferronickel particle. A wet magnetic separation with 500 gauss magnet was conducted to produce ferronickel in concentrate. Increasing the reduction temperature of nickel laterite increased the nickel grade and recovery. The nickel grade and recovery also increased along with the longer holding time in the reduction process. Nevertheless, it decreased the iron recovery.

Kurzfassung: The trend of research and development of technological advancement in thermal insulators involves using renewable materials, selecting manufacturing processes that require the lowest possible energy, or using waste materials that may help subdue the reduction of petroleum reserves. This review discusses the potential substitution of petroleum by natural materials in thermal insulation manufacturing. This review presents an overview of the definition, properties, materials, and methods that can be used in the manufacture of thermal insulators based on results reported in the literature. Many materials are currently being investigated to produce thermal insulator such as cellulose. Cellulose fiber has a big potential to be used in the manufacture of thermal insulators because cellulose possesses many advantageous properties over petroleum-based polymers, i.e. biocompatibility, biodegradability, thermal stability, chemical stability, and low cost. Another material that may be used is silica, as it has high temperature resistance and low thermal expansion. Bagasse containing high cellulose and silica with the composition of 32-44% cellulose and 55.5%-70% silica. Therefore, bagasse proves appealing to be processed into thermal insulator. Aerogels are among the best thermal insulating materials known. This review proposes the impregnation method followed by the ambient pressure drying (APD) method to synthesize cellulose-silica aerogel. The impregnation of silica into cellulose aerogel will increase mechanical strength, flexibility, and the resulting silica-cellulose aerogel will be transparent with a very low thermal conductivity.
