Abstract: Adopting the plasma kinetic model, we perform a numerical calculation of evolution characteristics in N2/O2 plasma with various reduced electric fields. The results show that there is an approximate linear relation between electron average energy and reduced electric field, the electron average energy is 2.6 eV and its maximum is 35 eV when reduced electric field is 100 Td, and reduced electric field has a strong influence on electron energy distributing function. The number densities of nitrogen molecules and atoms, oxygen atoms in electronic excited state reach their peaks when discharge is over, then drop off; but the number density of nitrogen molecules in vibrational excitation remains unchanged after discharge; oxygen atoms recombine into ozone molecules. With the increase of reduced electric field, the number density of vibration excitated nitrogen molecules reduces because of the decrease of the number of electrons with low energy, but other particles are increasing. The number densities of vibrational excitated nitrogen molecules are 3.831011cm-3, 1.981011cm-3 and 1.771011 cm-3 when reduced electric fields are set to be 50 Td, 75 Td and 100 Td respectively.

Abstract: This paper presents a numerical simulation of the evolution of the main particles in H2/O2 mixture plasma under different initial temperature, and gives the time-variation laws of the density of the main charged and neutral particles in plasma after discharge begins. The results show that the density of main active particles in H2/O2 mixture plasma is reduced with time, and the required time for the equilibrium of chemical reactions reduces with increasing initial temperature.

Abstract: The Chinese spallation neutron source was completed in May 2018 and then subsequently commissioned. The Back-streaming white neutron beam line can be used in neutron nuclear data measurement, neutron physics research, and nuclear technology. In these experiments, it is necessary to know the neutron energy spectrum, the neutron flux, and the neutron beam profile of the neutron beam. In this paper, we present the preliminary measurements of these parameters. The neutron energy spectrum and neutron flux are measured by the time-of-flight method with a fission chamber equipped with 〈sup〉235〈/sup〉U and 〈sup〉238〈/sup〉U samples and a 〈sup〉6〈/sup〉Li-Si detector. The neutron beam profile is measured by a scintillator-CMOS detection system. The preliminary experimental measurements of the beam line are obtained. Among them, the energy spectrum measurement range of white neutrons is from eV to more than 100 MeV, which also gives an uncertainty analysis; the neutron fluence rate gives the full power value of the two experimental halls; the collimated white neutron beam spot is given under a diameter of 60 mm. The future plan is also given. The results of these experimental parameters can serve as the foundation for the future nuclear data measurement and detector calibration experiments of the beam line.

Abstract: It is important to improve the hohlraum radiation temperature for the research of high energy density physics, especially for study of inertial confinement fusion. Increasing the wall reemission ratio is an effective way to improve the temperature. It is found in theory that low density foam could reduce hohlraum wall energy loss, and then increase hohlraum temperature. In previous studies, experiments have shown that laser-to-X-ray conversion is enhanced by Au foam. However, improving reemission ratio is more important to increase hohlraum radiation temperature, because most of energy is lost in the wall.In this paper, we report our experiments carried out on SGⅢ prototype to compare the X-ray flux reemitted by Au foam and that by Au. For the experimental design, Au solid and Au foam are irradiated symmetrically along the axis by hohlraum radiation source Tr(t), which is assessed by broadband X-ray spectrometer flat-response X-ray diodes. The measured peak temperature is about 190 eV. Reemission flux from sample is measured by transmission grating spectrometer (TGS). The space-resolved image for pure Au sample shows that the hohlraum radiation is asymmetrical along the axis in the experimental conditions, temperature of top is higher than that at the bottom, which is consistent with simulation results obtained by using IRAD3D code. In order to compare the reemission flux from Au solid sample and that from Au foam sample in same conditions, we need to correct the symmetry of hohlraum radiation. By multiplying the ratio of top flux to bottom flux in pure Au target by the bottom flux in Au-Au foam target, where Au foam is on, we make sure that they are ablated by the same radiation source. The calculated results show that X-ray flux is increased by 20% by Au foam of 0.4 g/cc density when the hohlraum temperature is 190 eV. The typical observed time-integrated X-ray reemission spectra for Au solid and Au foam by TGS are also shown. We see that N-band and O-band reemission are clearly enhanced by Au foam, and the O-band reemission is almost the same as M-band reemission. The increased flux concentrates below 1 keV of the soft X-ray emission. The self-similar solution results and MULTI 1D simulation results show that the wall loss energy fraction is saved by Au foam, whose relation to reemission flux can be described by a simple expression. The theoretical solution shows that the emission flux increases about 10%, and the MULTI simulation indicates that the emission flux increases about 6.8%. They are in qualitative agreement with the experiments results. These results show an alluring prospect for Au foam to be used as hohlraum wall.

Abstract: The development of semiconductor light-emitting diode (LED) in the visible emission range is very unbalance, as the power efficiency of yellow LED is far below other colors. Based on the GaN/Si technology, the authors and his team made a systematic research from the aspect of material growth, chip fabrication, device physics and equipment design, resolved the problems of epi-film cracking, high dislocation density, large strain in quantum well (QW), phase separation in QW, low QW growth temperature, low hole concentration, light absorption by substrate and light blocking by electrode, successfully made a breakthrough in fabricating efficient yellow LED. The yellow LED chip achieves a power efficiency of 26.7% at 20 A/cm〈sup〉2〈/sup〉 with 565 nm wavelength and efficacy of 164 lm/W, and the power efficiency goes up to 42.8% at 1 A/cm〈sup〉2〈/sup〉 with 577 nm wavelength and efficacy of 248 lm/W. New LED light source with multi-colors and without phosphor was developed based on the efficient yellow LEDs, opened up a new direction of pure LED healthy lighting.

Abstract: Using transfer matrix method and TFcalc thin film design software, the reflectance spectrum of distributed Bragg reflector (DBR) and vertical cavity surface emitting laser (VCSEL) are simulated. The reflectance spectra from the cavity and surface are compared with each other, thus providing the basis for white light source (WLS) optical reflectance spectrum of the VCSEL epitaxial wafer. When using WLS to characterize VCSEL wafer,it is necessary to combine the simulation results and the shape of optical reflectance spectrum to speculate the reflectance seen from the cavity. The influences of different cap layers on the reflectance of DBRs are discussed theoretically and experimentally. With a 1/4 GaAs cap layer, the reflectance reaches up to 97.8% seen from the cavity. This design can make the wavelength of the VCSEL etalon picked easily because of avoiding the influence of test noise. The active region has higher heat accumulation due to the small area and poor thermal conductivity. The characteristics of the gain spectrum of InGaAs/AlGaAs strained quantum well (QW) under different temperatures and the temperature distribution in VCSEL are simulated by Crosslight software. The gain-to-cavity wavelength detuning is used to improve the slope efficiency and the temperature stability. The temperature in active region ranges from 360 K to 370 K.The gain peak wavelength and the Fabry-Perot cavity wavelength are designed in the ranges of 829-832 nm and 845-847 nm,respectively.Epitaxial wafer with top-emitting VCSEL structure grown by metal-organic chemical vapor deposition is characterized. The room temperature photoluminescence peak is at 827.5 nm and the etalon cavity wavelength measured by optical reflectance is 847.7 nm,which are consistent with designed values. The oxide restricted VCSELs with 7.5 m oxide aperture are fabricated. The image of the infrared light source CCD shows that the oxide aperture is circular.A passivation layer of 120 nm SiO2 is finally deposited to insulate water vapor. The threshold current is 0.8 mA,and the maximum output power reaches up to 9 mW at 13.5 mA.The optical spectrum at 6.0 mA reveals multiple transverse modes. The center wavelength is 852.3 nm and the root mean square (RMS) spectrum width is 0.6 nm,meeting the high-speed Datacom standards.Shannon theory indicates that the maximum data rate is not only proportional to bandwidth but also related to signal-to-noise ratio (SNR).It is effective to reduce relative intensity noise and enhance the SNR by increasing output power. From the eye diagram of 25 Gbit/s on-off key VCSEL,it is demonstrated that fall time is 38.66 ps,rise time is 41.54 ps,SNR is 5.6,and jitter RMS is 1.57 ps.Clear eye opening is observed from eye diagram of 25 GBaud/s PAM-4 VCSEL,which indicates the qualified 50 Gbit/s high speed performance.

Abstract: UV coherent radiation at 327 nm, 328 nm, 330 nm and 333 nm is generated by four-wave parametric process in sodium vapour. The spectral characteristics is examined. The signal at 333 mn has narrower line width and wider tunable range. So it is possible to use it as a coherent UV source.

Abstract: A new type of laser fusion indirect drive octahedral spherical hohlraum has been built up by Chinese researchers in recent years. The hohlraum with 6 laser entrance holes (LEHs) has superiority over other hohlraum configurations in both robust inherent high symmetry and high coupling energy efficiency from laser to hotspot for inertial confinement fusion study. Recently, an experimental investigation on radiation emission from the spherical hohlraum with two LEHs has been performed on the SGⅢ laser facility. In this experiment, 32 laser beams (24 beams from the top, 8 beams from the bottom) are injected into the hohlraum within 3 ns, and the total laser energy is 86.4 kJ. The hohlraum radius is 1.8 mm, and the radius of laser entrance hole is 0.6 mm. The experiments are conducted under two conditions:one is that a 0.48-radius capsule is located at the center of the hohlraum, and the other is that nothing is located in the hohlraum. Some flat response X-ray detectors (FXRDs) are installed at different angles on the target wall to collect the radiation energy. We carry out three-dimensional (3D) simulations of the experiment by using our 3D radiation implicit Monte Carlo code IMC3D. This code was developed in recent years based on fleck and Cumming's ideas. The hydrodynamics is not taken into consideration in the simulations, so we deduct 30% laser energy lost to hohlraum wall movements and back scattered by laser plasma instabilities. Based on the approximation, the simulation results are reasonable in principle. As a result, the radiation temperature of the hohlraum with capsule is 230 eV, and the radiation temperature of the hohlraum without capsule is 238 eV. At the end of laser injection, the capsule reflection ratio is 0.83. Compared with the experimental data, most of the simulation data agree well with the detector observations, except the data at 0 angle. The possible reasons for the difference are analyzed. The flux at 0 angle is more sensitive to the wall plasma movements than at the other angles. So if we ignore this phenomenon, then the witch will occur both in experiment and in simulation, yielding obvious differences for those quantities which strongly relate to the hydrodynamics of wall plasma. Finally, the methods of eliminating the difference are proposed and the prospect of IMC3D is presented.
