Abstract: Background: From the academic year 2018-2019, the University of Medicine and Pharmacy has renewed the medical training program in the direction of integration based on competence. One of the mandatory criteria is to survey the satisfaction of medical students with the training program at the Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy, in order to validate the school’s training quality. A plethora of aspects of the training program was considered in this study, such as objectives and content of the training program, materials and facilities, teaching staff, organization of assessment, and counseling to support students. Objectives: 1) Surveying the fulfillment of medical students with the training program and 2) Finding out some factors related to student contentment with the training program. Materials and methods: Crosssectional descriptive study was applied to investigate the satisfaction of 847 medical students from 1st to 4th year at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy. The data retrieved from the Google form autocomplete toolkit consisted of 2 parts: general information and the satisfaction of medical students with the training program. Data analysis was performed using SPSS 20.0 software. Partition system description was achieved by frequency and rate. Exploratory factor analysis was employed to evaluate the reliability of the satisfactory scale of students with the training quality and the model’s suitability. Linear regression was utilized to assess the correlation of the training quality factors with the satisfaction of students. Results: Overall, 87.8% of students are content with the renewed training program. The linear regression model shows that the students’ fulfillment is determined by lecturers, objectives and contents of the program, administrative organization (structure, evaluation, and support for students), and facility-related factors (materials and training facilities). Conclusions: The satisfaction rate of students reaches 87.8%. The degree of influence of these factors on the satisfaction of medical students with the training program at the University of Medicine and Pharmacy follows a descending order: (1) teaching staff, (2) objectives and content of the training program, (3) organizing, evaluating, and supporting students, (4) materials and facilities for training. Key words: satisfaction, medical students, university training, Hue University of Medicine and Pharmacy.

Abstract: Background: Suicide continues to be a leading cause of death worldwide. Recently, more than 45,000 children in the age group of 10 to 19 years died by suicide, making it the second leading cause of death in the age group of 15 to 19, surpassed only by traffic accidents, tuberculosis, and fighting. Objective: To determine the prevalence of suicidal ideation among adolescents whose parents are separated/divorced; and to explore the factors associated with suicidal ideation and describe adverse experiences among adolescents. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted in 309 adolescents with separated/separated parents in Hue City. Data was collected through direct interviews using a structured questionnaire. Suicidal ideation was defined as the presence of thoughts or plans related to suicide within the last 12 months. Multivariate logistic regression was applied to identify factors associated with suicidal ideation in adolescents with separated/ separated parents. Results: The study found that 15.5% (95% CI:11.7 - 20.1) of adolescents with separated /separated parents reported experiencing suicidal thoughts, in which men accounted 8.4% (95% CI:5.6 – 11.2) and women accounted 7.1% (95% CI:4.5 - 10.6). Several factors were identified as increasing the risk of suicidal ideation, including alcohol use (OR = 3.24; 95% CI:1.42 - 7.42), hyperactivity/inattention (OR = 4.96; 95% CI:1.58 - 15.605), and a poor quality of family relationships (OR = 4.82; 95% CI:1.26 - 18.50). On the contrary, certain factors were found to reduce the risk, including being in the 14-15 age group of 14-15 (OR = 0.26; 95% CI:0.10 - 0.69) and participating in physical activity (OR = 0.44; 95% CI:0.21 – 0.94). Conclusions: The research highlights a significant percentage of adolescents with separated / divided parents who experience suicidal ideation. Therefore, it is imperative for families, schools, and society to develop comprehensive strategies to monitor and address various risky behaviours among students simultaneously. Key words: suicidal ideation, adolescents, separation/divorce.

Abstract: Background: Pharmacogenetics is at the heart of precision medicine. The CYP2C19 gene encodes the cytochrome P450 2C19 enzyme which is involved in the metabolism of proton pumps inhibitors in liver. The most common alelles encoding non-functional proteins are CYP2C19*2 and CYP2C19*3. Objectives: (1) Establish a process to identify CYP2C19*2 and *3 polymorphisms by PCR-RFLP technique; (2) Determine the prevalence of CYP2C19 genotypes by *2 and *3 polymorphisms among H. pylori-positive patients with gastroduodenal diseases. Materials and methods: DNA samples were extracted from 112 gastric biopsy specimens. The CYP2C19*2 and *3 polymorphisms were identified by PCR-RFLP technique. Confirming the results in 10% of the samples randomly by Sanger sequencing. Results: The PCR-RFLP results of validated samples were in 100% concordance with sequencing results. The frequencies of the *1, *2 and *3 alleles of the CYP2C19 gene were 67.9%, 29% and 3.1%, respectively. The proportion of groups with normal metabolizer, intermediate metabolizer and poor metabolizer genotypes were 45.5%, 44.7% and 9.8%, respectively. Conclusion: The intermediate/poor metabolizer genotype accounted for a high rate. PCR-RFLP is an accurate and cost-effective method to determine CYP2C19*2 and CYP2C19*3 polymorphisms. This technique can be applied to identify polymorphisms in patients with gastroduodenal disorders as a guidance for personalized therapy. Abstract: Objective: This study aimed to describe the self-efficacy of adolescent children from divorced/separated families and identify factors that correlate with their self-efficacy. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 309 students from divorced/separated families in Hue City. Data were collected through direct interviews with the participants, using a set of questions that included information about sociodemographics, school environment, and the Generalized Self-Efficacy scale (GSE). Multivariate logistic regression was used to identify factors related to children’s self-efficacy. Results: The results showed that 40.8% (95% CI: 35.9 - 46.3) of adolescents from separated/divorced families had low self-efficacy. The factors related to children’s self-efficacy, according to the multivariate logistic regression model, were gender, age group, economic family status, academic performance, parents’ divorce/separation time, living with whom, school bullying, being bullied, and school environment. Conclusions: Adolescents from separated/divorced families had low self-efficacy. Therefore, it is necessary to provide children with knowledge of self-efficacy and to collaborate between caregivers and schools to enhance children’s self-efficacy. Key words: self-efficacy, aldolescents, separated/divorced.
