Abstract:
A new plant with a basal rosette of leaves and upright naked axes bearing a terminal cupule-or strobilus-like organ is described from the Permian of China. Its systematic position as well as the ecologic implications of the first appearance of the life-form of rosette plants in the Permian are discussed.
