Abstract:
Studies of morphologie (S. E. M.), chemistry (electron microprobe), radiocrystallography (rotation cr., Weissenberg) and optics (microreflectometry) have been made on a fragment of the Morasko meteorite. Besides the classical nickel-iron phases (kamacite, taenite and plessite) , the fragment contains millimeter sized grains of cohenite (Fe, Ni)₃ C and of schreibersite (Fe, Ni)₃ P. Reflectance dispersion curves (λ = 400-700 nm) of the minerals are provided. This is new data for the two ; cohenite : R between 48.7 and 61.1 % ; schreibersite (with 40 % Ni), Rω from 45 % (λ = 400 nm) to 56 % (λ = 700 nm) ; R' varies from 47-57.9 % The a and c parameters of schreibersite (40 % Ni) were determined by monocrystal-line X-ray method (a = 9.09 Å, c = 4.45 Å).
