    Abstract: Retinoic acids (RAs) and their metabolites play an important role in abnormal morphological development and are speculated to be a possible cause for the increased rates of deformities in wild frog populations. In the current study, a method using ultra‐performance liquid chromatography‐electrospray ionization tandem mass spectrometry was developed for simultaneously analyzing all‐ trans ‐RA (at‐RA), 13‐ cis ‐RA (13c‐RA), 9‐ cis ‐RA (9c‐RA), and their 4‐oxo metabolites, all‐ trans ‐4‐oxo‐RA (at‐4‐oxo‐RA), 13‐ cis ‐4‐oxo‐RA (13c‐4‐oxo‐RA), and 9‐ cis ‐4‐oxo‐RA (9c‐4‐oxo‐RA) in wastewaters and surface waters. Method detection limits were matrix dependent, ranging from 0.02 to 0.37 ng/L. The method was used to investigate the occurrence of RAs and 4‐oxo‐RAs in Liaodong Bay and its adjacent rivers. Of these six retinoids, at‐RA, 13c‐RA, at‐4‐oxo‐RA, and 13c‐4‐oxo‐RA were detected in river waters at detection frequencies of 100%, 92%, 48.6%, and 21.6%, and concentrations of 0.05 to 1.23 ng/L, less than 0.03 to 0.41 ng/L, less than 0.02 to 1.00 ng/L, and less than 0.06 to 0.81 ng/L, respectively. Retinoic acids were detected for the first time in the aquatic environment and were found to be more persistent than 4‐oxo‐RAs. The hazard quotient for mortality of frog embryos caused by induction by retinoids detected in the current study was then estimated, and the value was calculated to be 0.09.     Abstract: The presence of antibiotics in the environment is of great concern because of their potential for resistance selection among pathogens. In the present study we investigated the occurrence of 19 sulfonamides, five N ‐acetylated sulfonamide metabolites, and trimethoprim in the Liao River basin and adjacent Liaodong Bay, China, as well as 10 human/agricultural source samples. Within the 35 river samples, 12 sulfonamides, four acetylated sulfonamides, and trimethoprim were detected, with the dominant being sulfamethoxazole (66.6 ng/L), N ‐acetylsulfamethoxazole (63.1 ng/L), trimethoprim (29.0 ng/L), sulfadiazine (14.0 ng/L), and sulfamonomethoxine (8.4 ng/L); within the 36 marine samples, 10 chemicals were detected, with the main contributions from sulfamethoxazole (25.2 ng/L) and N ‐acetylsulfamethoxazole (28.6 ng/L). Sulfamethoxazole (25.9%), N ‐acetylsulfamethoxazole (46.6%), trimethoprim (22.9%), and sulfapyridine (1.4%) were the main chemicals from human sources, while sulfamonomethoxine, sulfamethazine, sulfaquinoxaline, sulfaguanidine, sulfadiazine, sulfanilamide, and sulfamethoxypyridazine were dominant in the animal husbandry sources, specifically, swine and poultry farms, and sulfamethoxazole (91%) was dominant in the mariculture source. A principal component analysis with multiple linear regression was performed to evaluate the source apportionment of total sulfonamides in Liaodong Bay. It was found that animal husbandry contributed 15.2% of total sulfonamides, while human sources contributed 28.5%, and combined human and mariculture sources contributed 56.3%. In addition, the mariculture contribution was 24.1% of total sulfonamides into the sea based on mass flux estimation. The present study is the first report that the environmental levels of sulfonamide metabolites were comparable to the corresponding parents; therefore, we should pay attention to their environmental occurrence. Source apportionment showed human discharge (60.7%) significantly contributed to these antibiotics in Liaodong Bay, which provides important information for environmental management. Environ.     Abstract: The Yuquan capsules is a commonly used traditional Chinese Patent Medicine used for the treatment of diabetes mellitus. In this study, a high‐throughput analytical method for identifying the chemical composition of Yuquan capsules was established for the first time by using ultra‐performance liquid chromatography–quadrupole time of flight mass spectrometry. The data obtained were subjected to fragment analysis and this was combined with UNIFI processing of natural products. One‐hundred sixteen compounds were characterized from Yuquan capsules. Twelve of the bioactive compounds were quantitatively analyzed by ultra‐performance liquid chromatography‐tandem triple quadrupole mass spectrometry. This study was undertaken to obtain a comprehensive chemical profile analysis as well as to evaluate the overall quality of Yuquan capsules. The results will provide a reference for the quality evaluation of different Yuquan preparations. In addition, the data will enable basic pharmacodynamic research into these extensively used capsules.

    Abstract: Surface states are one of the crucial factors determining the phase stability of formamidinium‐based perovskites. Compared with other compositions, exclusive lattice strain in FAPbI 3 perovskite generates defects at the surface more readily, making them more vulnerable at the surface and easier to trigger the phase transition from α‐phase to the non‐perovskite δ‐phase. In order to regulate the surface quality, here, a chemi‐mechanical cleavage approach is reported, i.e., tape peel‐zone (PZ), implemented by attaching and peeling off the ordinary Kapton Tapes. The PZ approach can simultaneously eliminate the surface defects of perovskite and siliconize the film surface with hydrophobic silicone compounds. These two functionalities endow α‐FAPbI 3 perovskite with a robust hydrophobic surface, which can sustain for 30 days under a relative humidity of 60% and withstand the high temperature up to 240 °C. The unencapsulated PZ‐treated cells show 80.3% of initial performance after 90 h of continuous operation in ambient air, which is 31.4 times more stable than the pristine cell.

    Abstract: Treatments for pulmonary fibrosis (PF) are ineffective because its molecular pathogenesis and therapeutic targets are unclear. Here, we show that the expression of low‐density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR) was significantly decreased in alveolar type II (ATII) and fibroblast cells, whereas it was increased in endothelial cells from systemic sclerosis‐related PF (SSc‐PF) patients and idiopathic PF (IPF) patients compared with healthy controls. However, the plasma levels of low‐density lipoprotein (LDL) increased in SSc‐PF and IPF patients. The disrupted LDL–LDLR metabolism was also observed in four mouse PF models. Upon bleomycin (BLM) treatment, Ldlr ‐deficient ( Ldlr −/−) mice exhibited remarkably higher LDL levels, abundant apoptosis, increased fibroblast‐like endothelial and ATII cells and significantly earlier and more severe fibrotic response compared to wild‐type mice. In vitro experiments revealed that apoptosis and TGF‐β1 production were induced by LDL, while fibroblast‐like cell accumulation and ET‐1 expression were induced by LDLR knockdown. Treatment of fibroblasts with LDL or culture medium derived from LDL‐pretreated endothelial or epithelial cells led to obvious fibrotic responses in vitro. Similar results were observed after LDLR knockdown operation. These results suggest that disturbed LDL–LDLR metabolism contributes in various ways to the malfunction of endothelial and epithelial cells, and fibroblasts during pulmonary fibrogenesis. In addition, pharmacological restoration of LDLR levels by using a combination of atorvastatin and alirocumab inhibited BLM‐induced LDL elevation, apoptosis, fibroblast‐like cell accumulation and mitigated PF in mice. Therefore, LDL–LDLR may serve as an important mediator in PF, and LDLR enhancing strategies may have beneficial effects on PF.

However, the galvanic reaction between the two metals, which may be the main cause of metal corrosion and diffusion in some failure TFT devices, has been seldom reported. According to the detailed study of the wet and rinse process, this work proposes a possible corrosion mechanism.

    Abstract: Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have achieved unprecedented power conversion efficiency improvements, and further development is stepping to industrialization. In terms of industrial manufacturing, simplifying the solar cell structure is critical in both fabrication process design and cost control. Due to the bipolar charge transport nature of perovskites, the elimination of the charge carrier transport layer is possible. Herein, EMIMPF 6 ionic liquid is incorporated into the perovskite film to modulate the energy‐level alignment and the charge transfer kinetics, demonstrating a high‐performance electron transport layer‐free (ETL‐free) PSC. The integrated EMIMPF 6 assisted the internal charge collection and favored the interfacial charge transfer from perovskite to FTO substrate, contributing to the high performance of ETL‐free PSCs. The ETL‐free PSCs showed a conversion efficiency of 16.2%, which is comparable with its conventional counterpart. This work provides a solution to simplify the PSC structure and would have an impact on designing a scalable manufacturing process for PSCs.

    Abstract: La quimioterapia preventiva para helmintos transmitidos por el suelo ( HTS ) en niños escolarizados está ampliamente implementada en Ruanda. Sin embargo, no existen datos recientes sobre su eficacia. Hemos evaluado la prevalencia, los factores asociados y la manifestación de la infección por HTS entre niños escolares en las tierras altas del sur de Ruanda, y determinado las tasas de curación y reinfección. Métodos Se incluyeron 622 niños (301 rurales; 321 urbanos) previamente a la administración de una única dosis de mebendazol. Se determinó la presencia de infección por HTS , antes y de 2 a 15 semanas después del tratamiento, mediante el método de Kato‐Katz y amplificación por PCR para Ascaris lumbricoides . Se evaluaron los datos clínicos y antropométricos, el estatus socioeconómico y los factores potencialmente asociados con la infección por HTS . Resultados La infección por HTS estaba presente en un 38% de los escolares en zonas rurales y un 13% de aquellos viviendo en zonas urbanas. A. lumbricoides era responsable de un 96% de las infecciones. De estas, una tercera parte se detectó exclusivamente mediante PCR . Los factores asociados con la infección por HTS diferían bastante entre los niños que vivían en zonas rurales y urbanas. De la misma forma, la infección por HTS estaba asociada con raquitismo y anemia solo entre niños de zonas urbanas. La tasa de curación después de dos semanas era del 92%. De ocho infecciones por A. lumbricoides sin curar, siete eran submicroscópicas. La reinfección en los 3 meses siguientes ocurrió en un 7%, pero la tasa era mayor entre niños viviendo en zonas rurales, y particularmente entre aquellos con presencia de una infección inicial con una intensidad comparativamente más alta. Conclusiones Las diferencias, entre zonas rurales y urbanas, en los factores asociados a las infecciones por HTS y en las tasas de reinfección, ponen de manifiesto la necesidad de realizar intervenciones específicas para reducir la trasmisión. Los ensayos de PCR podrían ayudar a detectar infecciones leves persistentes tras el tratamiento. En el sur de Ruanda el mebendazol es muy efectivo frente a las infecciones por HTS , predominantemente por A. lumbricoides .
