Abstract:
Lithium–sulfur (Li–S) batteries with high theoretical capacity and low cost are challenged by the polysulfide shuttle effect and sluggish reaction kinetics. Herein, a functional composite interlayer consisting of metallic 1T-MoS 2 with high catalytic activity and carbon fiber cloth is firstly designed and fabricated for high-performance Li–S batteries. The 1T-MoS 2 @carbon fiber cloth (1T-MoS 2 @CFC) composite interlayer with high electrical conductivity not only serves as the upper current collector to improve the utilization of the sulfur cathode, but also acts as a polysulfide barrier and trapper to suppress the shuttle effect of polysulfides by strong chemical interaction.
