Abstract: The current lake environmental problem of harmful cyanobacterial blooms cannot be mitigated effectively despite numerous eutrophication control strategies, and climate warming may have been considered as a potential key driver. However, it is still unclear how climate change and associated natural processes influence cyanobacterial development. Here we use a sedimentary pigment record from a remote, alpine, small and eutrophic lake (Lake Mayinghai) on the Chinese Loess Plateau and take the mid-Holocene as an analog to explore the possible influences of temperature, precipitation and terrestrial vegetation on in-lake and catchment processes, algal compositional changes and cyanobacterial development. The pigment data indirectly suggest that a distinctly low β -carotene to chlorophyll a ratio during the mid-Holocene is likely due to an increase in non-nitrogen-fixing colonial coccoid cyanobacteria at the expense of nitrogen-fixing filamentous cyanobacteria. There are two probable synergistic driving mechanisms, of which one is high temperatures and associated increased lake thermal stratification and the other is high inorganic nitrogen supply and resultant increased lake nitrogen to phosphorus ratio. This study provides implications for the potential influences of future climate change on cyanobacterial development under a warmer, wetter and re-forested environment on the Chinese Loess Plateau.

Abstract: With the rapid development of 5G infrastructure, cloud computing and other technologies to enhance the rapid development of autonomous vehicles. How to quickly, safely and efficiently test and evaluate the autonomous vehicles is the only way for that to have the ability to drive on real public road. This paper build a set of automatic driving simulation test system based on digital twin technology, describing the necessary steps taken for the system design, system implementation, and testing of a autonomous vehicle. In the system the real traffic scene in the digital space re-emerged, to achieve the real vehicle running in the real environment, while mapping to the virtual environment to achieve the vehicle in the loop, making it possible to define driving test scenarios for different types of tractor and trailer combinations and providing the free test site for autonomous vehicles. At the same time, the system provides an open interface, to verify and test various autonomous algorithms. The sensor device of the tested autonomous system is flexibly configured, and the test cost is low and the efficiency is high.

Abstract: Gastric cancer (GC), the fifth most common cancer globally, remains the leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide. Inflammation-induced tumorigenesis is the predominant process in GC development; therefore, systematic research in this area should improve understanding of the biological mechanisms that initiate GC development and promote cancer hallmarks. Here, we summarize biological knowledge regarding gastric inflammation-induced tumorigenesis, and characterize the multi-omics data and systems biology methods for investigating GC development. Of note, we highlight pioneering studies in multi-omics data and state-of-the-art network-based algorithms used for dissecting the features of gastric inflammation-induced tumorigenesis, and we propose translational applications in early GC warning biomarkers and precise treatment strategies. This review offers integrative insights for GC research, with the goal of paving the way to novel paradigms for GC precision oncology and prevention.

Abstract: Pheochromocytoma/paraganglioma (PPGL) has a high genetic heterogeneity with 40% germline variants in known pathogenic genes. Data in Chinese on this aspect are scanty. To detect the genetic and clinical profile of Chinese PPGL patients, we examined the variants of 12 known germline pathogenic genes ( SDHA , SDHB , SDHC , SDHD , SDHAF2 , FH , VHL , RET , NF1 , MAX , TMEM127 , and KIF1B ) by next-generation sequencing and Sanger sequencing in 314 Chinese PPGL subjects. Twenty nine percent of Chinese PPGL patients had germline variants and SDHB was the most frequently mutated (14.6%). The most frequent SDHB variants were in exon 2, exon 7, and IVS 7. Pathogenic variants were more likely to occur in metastatic PPGL patients, paragangliomas, and patients under 30, with the ratio being 50.7% (35/69), 35.9% (56/156), and 49.5% (52/105), respectively. Our cohort included 314 patients from a single setting. The genetic and clinical features of Chinese PPGL patients were unique in some aspects compared to their non-Chinese counterparts. Identification of genotype-phenotype relation can serve as an effective tool for genetic prioritization and clinical decision-making.

Abstract: China’s transportation sector suffers from excessive energy consumption and serious pollutant emissions. There is increasing pressure to improve energy and environmental efficiency (EEE). This paper researches the EEE of transportation systems in 255 Chinese cities from 2015 to 2019 with the assistance of the super-efficiency SBM model. Research results show that the five-year average EEE of the Chinese transportation system is 0.4420, indicating an overall low performance, with most regions still needing improvement. There are significant differences in the transportation system EEE between cities, with Guangzhou, Maoming, and Zhoushan ranking in the top three, and Heihe, Xining, and Taiyuan in the bottom. Cities with a better economic base, developed water systems and more relevant policy documents do better in energy use and environmental protection compared to other cities. Moreover, the development of the transportation systems is uneven, with noticeable regional differences. The general trend is that cities located in the eastern have better transportation systems EEE than cities in other economic zones. The findings should have a far-reaching impact on the sustainable development of cities. It also provides an essential reference for the research on EEE efficiency of transportation systems in China and other countries.

Abstract: Contact angle is one of the most important indexes to evaluate the hydrophobicity of solid surface. In order to explore the wetting characteristics of droplets on anisotropic solid surfaces, including contact angle, droplet radius, droplet height, contact radius, contact area and projected area, an ellipsoidal droplet contact angle model was established. Different from the ordinary plane ellipsoidal cap model, the major axis and minor axis of the elliptical cap shape in this model are not exactly the same in different planes. This model studied the relationship between contact angle and interface parameters in different planes. By collecting the droplet size parameters of fluororubber (FKM) prepared by template method, the correctness of the theoretical model was verified. Among them, the maximum error between the theoretical value of droplet radius and the actual measured value was 4.3%, and the maximum error of droplet projected area was 2.1%. It was found that the contact angle was inversely proportional to the droplet-solid contact radius and contact area, and directly proportional to the projected area of the droplet. In addition, for the same droplet on the surface of the same solid material, it was observed that the contact radius between the droplet and the solid was small in the direction of large contact angle. This discovery is helpful to explain the hydrophobic mechanism of the material surface with anisotropic contact angle.

Abstract: The antiferromagnetic topological insulator (AFTI) is topologically protected by the combined time-reversal and translational symmetry T c . In this paper we investigate the effects of the s -wave superconducting pairings on the multilayers of AFTI, which breaks T c symmetry and can realize quantum anomalous Hall insulator with unit Chern number. For the weakly coupled pairings, the system corresponds to the topological superconductor (TSC) with the Chern number C = ±2. We answer the following questions whether the local Chern numbers and chiral Majorana edge modes of such a TSC distribute around the surface layers. By the numerical calculations based on a theoretic model of AFTI, we find that when the local Chern numbers are always dominated by the surface layers, the wavefunctions of chiral Majorana edge modes must not localize on the surface layers and show a smooth crossover from spatially occupying all layers to only distributing near the surface layers, similar to the hinge states in a three dimensional second-order topological phases. The latter phase, denoted by the hinged TSC, can be distinguished from the former phase by the measurements of the local density of state. In addition we also study the superconducting vortex phase transition in this system and find that the exchange field in the AFTI not only enlarges the phase space of topological vortex phase but also enhances its topological stability. These conclusions will stimulate the investigations on superconducting effects of AFTI and drive the studies on chiral Majorana edge modes and vortex Majorana zero modes into a new era.

Abstract: The effects of pozzolan and calcium chloride on the performance of asphalt mixtures were analyzed by laboratory performance tests. Using the maximum bulk density of mixed materials after vibration compaction, Determined the reasonable ratio of calcium chloride to fill the voids of pozzolanic material. The amount of surface modified material was determined based on the precipitation rate of the melting snow component and the effect on asphalt performance under cyclic water immersion conditions. Tested the performance of the asphalt mixture, self-melting snow material can improve the low temperature performance of the mixture. There is a certain reduction in high temperature performance and water stability, but all meet the requirements of normative indicators.
