    Abstract: Several recent studies have highlighted that change in land use and land cover (LULC) is the main threat causing the decline and extinction of certain species. Gibbons (Hylobatidae) could be excellent examples, on account of their potential for extinction in the near future under the effects of LULC changes due to their particular ecological traits. This study aims to model the current suitable habitat of the Northern white-cheeked gibbon ( Nomascus leucogenys (Ogilby, 1840)) in the Western Nghe An Biosphere Reserve (BR), Vietnam and assess the changes in its suitable habitat following the changes in LULC from 1990 to 2020. The maximum entropy approach (MaxEnt) was used to predict the suitable habitat of the gibbon using its occurrence localities and environmental predictors. The model analysis showed that the “Distance to Agriculture” variable had the strongest impact on the gibbons’ suitable habitat. Our results predicted the present suitable habitat of the gibbon species at approximately 4,022.42 km 2 (30.95% of the overall BR area) in three spatially separated areas inside the Western Nghe An BR. Furthermore, the suitable habitat areas of the gibbon in 1990, 2000, and 2010 were projected at roughly 4,347.68 km 2 , 4,324.97 km 2 , and 2,750.21 km 2 , respectively, following a decreasing trend from 1990 to 2010, but a gradual increase between 2010 and 2020. The suitable habitat of the gibbon inside three core protected areas (Pu Mat National Park, Pu Huong, and Pu Hoat Nature Reserves) showed a continually increasing trend from 1990 to 2020. Our results highlighted the influence of LULC changes and the role of the protected area network in gibbon conservation. The information from the study provides a quantitative baseline for the future conservation of the critically endangered gibbon in the Western Nghe An BR.

    Abstract: How to teach listening skills effectively has always been a concern, especially when it is conducted online during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic. This research aims to examine the impact of using Zoom and Padlet in teaching Listening online for B2 students at a university in Vietnam. The participants included 76 students, separated into a control group and an experimental group with pre-test mean scores of 57.50 (SD=7.24) and 57.39 (SD=6.27), respectively. The treatment applied to the experimental group was a combination of Zoom’s main room, breakout rooms, and Padlet interactive tool. After fifteen weeks, both groups were required to do a post-test, and then the experimental participants were asked to fill in a survey. Findings from post-tests revealed that both groups got improved, but more improvement was found in the experimental group. The survey results reported a high level of students’ concentration and enjoyment of learning when the applications of Zoom and Padlet were combined. In light of the outcomes, further research on a larger scale should be carried out to provide ESL listening teachers with an alternative in teaching their listening lessons online effectively

    Abstract: Đặt vấn đề: Đánh giá kết quả phẫu thuật nội soi khâu chóp xoay khớp vai bằng kĩ thuật khâu bắc cầu. Phương pháp: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang tiến cứu trên 25 bệnh nhân được chẩn đoán rách chóp xoay khớp vai, được phẫu thuật khâu chóp xoay khớp vai bằng kỹ thuật khâu bắc cầu qua nội soi tại Bệnh viện Đại học Y Hà Nội thời gian từ 06/2020 đến 06/2021. Kết quả được đánh giá dựa trên thang điểm UCLA. Kết quả: Tuổi trung bình là 56,96 ± 8,73 tuổi. 60% bệnh nhân là nam giới và 68% bệnh nhân tổn thương vai phải. 80,7% bệnh nhân phẫu thuật sau 3-12 tháng từ khi có triệu chứng. 100% bệnh nhân tổn thương gân trên gai, có 1 trường hớp (0,4%) có tổn thương gân dưới vai kèm theo. Điểm UCLA trung bình trước mổ là 13,6 ± 1,4 và sau mổ là 30,28 ± 2,4. Biến chứng sau mổ là tràn dịch phần mềm với các mức độ khác nhau, hết sau 1-3 ngày. Kết luận: Nội soi khâu chóp xoay khớp vai bằng kĩ thuật bắc cầu cho kết quả sau mổ tốt, cải thiện rõ rệt về triệu chứng lâm sàng cũng như chức năng khớp vai của bệnh nhân.

    Abstract: Đặt vấn đề: Nghiên cứu đánh giá kết quả điều trị gãy kín Galeazzi ở người trưởng thành bằng phẫu thuật tại bệnh viện Việt Đức. Đối tượng và phương pháp nghiên cứu: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang hồi cứu và tiến cứu không đối chứng trên 62 bệnh nhân được chẩn đoán gãy kín Galeazzi trên 18 tuổi đã được điều trị phẫu thuật tại Bệnh viện Việt Đức - Hà Nội từ tháng 1 năm 2018 đến tháng 12 năm 2020. Kết quả: Đa số bệnh nhân ở độ tuổi từ 18 đến 40 tuổi (72,6%), trong đó nam giới chiếm tỉ lệ cao hơn (66%); tai nạn giao thông và tai nạn sinh hoạt là nguyên nhân dẫn đến chấn thương chiếm tỷ lệ cao nhất (88,7%) và loại tổn thương gãy xương đơn thuần không kèm chấn thương cơ quan lớn kèm theo chiểm tỉ lệ cao nhất (69%). Cơ chế chấn thương gián tiếp chiếm đa số (93,5%). Kết quả chung tốt và khá chiếm tỷ lệ cao 85,6%, đạt là 9,6%, xấu là 4,8%. Kết luận: Gãy Galeazzi là gãy xương thường gặp trong chấn thương chi trên và ảnh hưởng đến chức năng vận động sấp ngửa bàn tay và cổ tay. Phẫu thuật kết hợp xương bên trong nhằm nắn chỉnh phục hồi về giải phẫu, cố định ổ gãy vững chắc, tạo điều kiện để tập phục hồi chức năng sớm sau phẫu thuật và mang lại kết quả tốt cho bệnh nhân.

    Abstract: Đặt vấn đề: Nghiên cứu đánh giá kết quả phẫu thuật gãy kín thân xương đùi ở người lớn bằng nẹp khóa tại bệnh viện Hữu nghị Việt Đức. Đối tượng và phương pháp nghiên cứu: Nghiên cứu hồi cứu không đối chứng trên 56 bệnh nhân được quả phẫu thuật kết hợp xương nẹp vít khóa điều trị gãy thân xương đùi ở người lớn từ tháng 8/2019 đến tháng 6/2021. Kết quả: Đa số bệnh nhân ở độ tuổi từ 20 đến 29 tuổi (43%), đa phần là nam giới chiếm 88%, tai nạn giao thông là nguyên nhân dẫn đến chấn thương chiếm tỷ lệ cao nhất (88%) và gãy vị trí 1/3 giữa chiếm đa phần (82%); tổn thương chủ yếu là nhóm A (71%) theo phân loại tiêu chuẩn AO. Kết quả chung theo thang điểm của Larson Bostman và kết quả PHCN của Ter-Schiport tốt  chiếm tỷ lệ cao 96%, trung bình là 4%, xấu là 0%. Kết luận: Gãy kín thân xương đùi ở người lớn là tổn thương nặng, ảnh hưởng đến chức năng và tầm vận động chi dưới. Phẫu thuật kết hợp xương nẹp vít khóa nhằm nắn chỉnh phục hồi về giải phẫu, cố định ổ gãy vững chắc, tạo điều kiện để tập phục hồi chức năng sớm sau phẫu thuật.

    Abstract: Writing is considered one of the most challenging skills for second and/ or foreign-language learners, particularly in the online environment. Numerous researchers worldwide have explored how to stimulate students' schemata and develop their writing skills. This study critically investigates the contribution of implementing online tools, such as Padlet and Jamboard, during the pre-writing stage to enhance students' writing abilities and their reactions to this application. A seven-week experimental research design was conducted with two online writing classes using the Zoom platform. The participants were 62 pre-intermediate students in the Intensive English program. T-tests were used to analyse the data, and a survey was administered to students in the experimental group at the end of week 7 to gather their perceptions. The findings revealed that integrating Padlet and Jamboard positively impacted the organisation and content of students' written texts. The survey results showed that most students were satisfied with the effectiveness of the lessons and their level of engagement in class. This study highlights the potential of technology integration in teaching writing, especially during the pre-writing stage, and suggests further research in this area.

    Abstract: The role of vocabulary has been proven to be crucial in learning both receptive and productive skills. However, in terms of listening skills, students may face enormous challenges in comprehending the content of a listening passage and, therefore, fail to take notes. This study aimed to investigate the impact of using Quizlet more creatively in the vocabulary section of online academic listening classes. Participants were 62 intermediate-level students from two online academic listening classes, divided into a control and an experimental group. While students in the control group did the tasks in their books or handouts from the teacher, those in the experimental group used Quizlet for eight weeks. A mixed method with t-tests and questionnaires was applied in this research. Results from t-tests revealed that students in the experimental group had better performance in remembering the definition of vocabulary they had learned and using correct vocabulary to fill in the blanks in sentences. Findings in questionnaires supported the improvement in the post-test that the students in the experimental group showed a high level of concentration, engagement, and excitement in class. The study's outcome sheds light on further research on using Quizlet in EFL classrooms.

    Abstract: Ung thư dạ dày là một trong năm loại ung thư phổ biến nhất trên thế giới. Theo phân loại của Lauren, ung thư dạ dày type lan toả là một trong ba thể ung thư dạ dày, được đặc trưng bởi sự biệt hoá kém, khả năng xâm lấn và di căn cao. CDH1 là gen mã hoá cho protein E-cadherin, đóng vai trò quan trong trong kết dính tế bào và duy trì tính toàn vẹn biểu mô. Chính vì những chức năng quan trọng này mà đột biến gen CDH1 làm tăng nguy cơ gây ung thư dạ dày. Đột biến gen CDH1 được được chứng minh là một trong những cơ chế phân tử chính gây ung thư dạ dày type lan toả. Chúng tôi tiến hành giải trình tự toàn bộ gen CDH1 của 30 bệnh nhân được chẩn đoán ung thư dạ dày type lan toả. Kết quả xác định được 15/30 bệnh nhân mang đột biến gen CDH1. Trong đó, các đột biến phổ biến nhất phát hiện được là đột biến tại vùng intron 1 c48+6 C 〉 T, chiếm 33.3% tổng số ca bệnh phát hiện đột biến; tiếp đến là đột biến tại operator c1-285 C 〉 A và đột biến tại exon 8 c.1248 delT, đều chiếm 20%.

    Abstract: This study examines the generality of easy to hard practice questions in programming subjects. One of the most important contributions is to propose four new formulas for determining the difficulty degree of questions. These formulas aim to describe different aspects of difficulty degree from the learner's perspective instead of the instructor's subjective opinions. Then, we used clustering technique to group the questions into three easy, medium and difficult degrees. The results will be the baseline to consider the generality of the exercise sets according to each topic. The proposed solution is then tested on the data set that includes the results of the two subjects: Programming Fundamentals, Data Structures and Algorithms from Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology. The most important result is to suggest the instructors complete various degrees according to each topic for better evaluating student's performance.

    Abstract: Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori) infection is prevalent and has a rapidly increasing antibiotic resistance rate in Vietnam. Reinfection is quite common, and gastric carcinoma remains one of the most common malignancies, which is not uncommon to develop after successful eradication. The purpose of this consensus is to provide updated recommendations on the management of H. pylori infection in the country. The consensus panel consisted of 32 experts from 14 major universities and institutions in Vietnam who were invited to review the evidence and develop the statements using the Delphi method. The process followed the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) system. The consensus level was defined as ≥80% for agreement on the proposed statements. Due to the limited availability of high-quality local evidence, this consensus was also based on high-quality evidence from international studies, especially those conducted in other populations in the Asia–Pacific region. The panel finally reached a consensus on 27 statements after two voting rounds, which consisted of four sections (1) indications for testing and selection of diagnostic tests (2), treatment regimens, (3) post-treatment confirmation of H. pylori status, and (4) reinfection prevention methods and follow-up after eradication. Important issues that require further evidence include studies on third-line regimens, strategies to prevent H. pylori reinfection, and post-eradication follow-up for precancerous gastric lesions. We hope this consensus will help guide the current clinical practice in Vietnam and promote multicenter studies in the country and international collaborations.
