    Kurzfassung: Nghiên cứu thực trạng rối loạn điện giải và một số yếu tố liên quan. Trong 1061 người bệnh COVID-19, có tình trạng hạ natri, kali và clo máu là: 42,2%; 16,3%; 43,4%. Nghiên cứu có sự khác biệt giữa tình trạng rối loạn điện giải với mức độ nặng của bệnh COVID-19 (p 〈 0,05). Một số yếu tố liên quan trên 552 người bệnh tại thời điểm nhập viện và trước ra viện cho thấy hạ natri máu ở người bệnh COVID-19 mức độ trung bình cao gấp 2,2 lần (95%CI: 1,30 - 3,54) và 1,8 lần (95%CI: 1,11 - 2,91) so với mức độ khác. Tại thời điểm nhập viện, hạ clo máu ở người bệnh COVID-19 mức độ trung bình cao gấp 2,1 (95%CI: 1,28 - 3,44) lần so với mức độ khác và hạ natri máu ở người bệnh có sốt cao gấp 2,5 lần (95%CI: 1,03 - 6,12) so với người bệnh không sốt. Kết quả nghiên cứu đưa ra số liệu dựa vào bằng chứng về thực trạng rối loạn điện giải. Do đó, cần can thiệp kịp thời cho người bệnh để đảm bảo cân bằng điện giải, dự phòng rối loạn điện giải nặng hơn.

    Kurzfassung: The development of Industrial Zones in Vietnam will put pressure on water resources at local as well as national scale, due to the large amounts of water consumed and discharged to environment. This study, via water mass balance, provides analyses and assessments on water demand and wastewater generated in each trading groups (industrial sectors) of the Long Thanh Industrial Zone and the Nhon Trach III Industrial Zone phase 2, Dong Nai – the province with the most industrial zones in Vietnam. According to the water mass balance calculation results, the water demand of industrial sectors depends on their manufacturing characteristics. Of which, Textile and Garment are the sectors with the highest demand, as well as highest water loss rate and highest amount of wateswater dischared. Meanwhile, Electronic and Construction Materials cosume the least amount of water. Machinery sector has the lowest amount of water loss. The wastewater/supply water ratio of the Long Thanh Industrial Zone is always 1,1 (for Textile) to 1,5 (for Machinery) times higher than the Nhon Trach III Industrial Zone phase 2, while the wastewater/supply water ratio of the Nhon Trach III Industrial Zone phase 2 is always less than 80%.

    Kurzfassung: The widespread devastation caused by the ongoing waves of COVID-19 imposed a significant burden on the healthcare labor force. At the frontline in the battle against the deadly COVID-19 virus, nursing students in Vietnam were at a much-increased risk of developing mental health conditions. This study aims to identify the prevalence of depression and its related factors, along with coping strategies used by nursing students in the COVID-19 pandemic in Vietnam. Materials and methods The study was cross-sectional in nature, with convenient sampling at the epicenters of COVID-19 outbreaks in Vietnam ( N = 191) from April to November 2021. After conducting a questionnaire pilot, the data was collected strictly using an internet-based approach. The Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale-21 items were used to identify the risk of depression among nursing students. The Chi-square test was used to assess the differences between coping strategies among nursing students. A multivariate logistic regression model was used to identify risk factors associated with depression. Findings The percentage of nursing students affected by depression was 21.5%, and almost half of the nursing students (49.2%) had no coping strategies for dealing with mental health concerns. Among the remaining nursing students, video-based mental consultation was the most popular method (25.7%). Being females (AOR: 2.7, 95% CI: 1.1–6.7), collecting bio-samples (AOR: 2.9, 95% CI: 1.4–6.2), providing support to vaccination spots (AOR: 2.3, 95% CI: 1.1–5.1), and not vaccinating against COVID-19 (AOR: 3.1, 95% CI: 1.1–9.1) were found as risk factors for depression among nursing students. Conclusion Our research revealed a significant number of nursing students suffering from depressive symptoms and underscoring the need for more effective methods of dealing with this condition. Depression management and coping skills focusing on female populations and those whose direct contacts with infectious sources should be implemented in the nursing curricula and continuous training credits. Those trainings, would support future nurses in handling crisis situations better.

    Kurzfassung: The ability of the agricultural residue of sugarcane bagasse to serve as an absorbent material used to remove Ciprofloxacin, one of strong Fluoroquinolone antibiotic from aqueous solutions in fixed-bed columns was investigated. The properties of biochar sugarcane bagasse were characterized using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy before and after modification. The results of fixed bed column experiment showed that the shape of the removal efficiency of CIP and exhaustion time was dependent on bed height, flow rate and initial concentration. The maximum adsorption capacity qo predicted from Thomas modelreached 0.955mg/g at the flow rate of 1mL/min, initial concentration of 15mg/L and bed height of 6cm. From Yoon-Nelson equation, 3.38 minutes was the time required for 50% exhaustion of 12cm bed height column with the flow rate 2mL/min and concentration 15mg/L. Thomas and Yoon-Nelson models were in good agreement with the experimental breakthrough curve data.

    Kurzfassung: Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) is one of public vehicle systems in modern cities to provide transportation services fast, confortable, and cost saving. However, effectiveness of one BRT route depends on the locations of its stops. This study focuses on determining optimal locations to build the stops of a BRT route. Firstly, criteria having influences on effective operation of a BRT stop are explorered, consisting of i) traveling demands, e.g. buildings, offices, industrial parks, hopitals, etc; ii) public transportations, e.g. metro stations, bus stops, etc; and iii) roads, e.g. crossroads, parking lots, etc. Secondly, each criterion is assigned a weighted factor representative for its influence, determined by the AHP method. Finally, the progress of data processing in GIS environment is established to create a weighted overlay map from all criteria. Subsequently, locations having high values are reasonable to build BRT stops. This progress has been applied to locate BRT stops of the Vo Van Kiet – Mai Chi Tho route in Ho Chi Minh City. The result indicates 40 BRT stops along this route, and it is considered as a scientific reference to help the city government in decision making.

    Kurzfassung: Background:Ginseng has been known since ancient time for its unique pharmaceutical effects on human health. Modern studies indicated that extracts of ginseng could improve a broad range of pathological conditions including neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s or Parkinson’s disease. Panax vietnamensis, a new ginseng species recently discovered in Vietnam, has received much interest due to its high composition of both known and new saponins whose therapeutic effects have not yet fully evaluated. In this study, the proliferative and differentiative effects of different fractions of the extract of Panax vietnamensis on cultured neural stem cells would be assessed. Materials and methods: Fractions from the Panax vietnamensis were prepared following a successive extraction of the raw material using ethanol, n-butanol, ether ethylic, and water, respectively. Potential toxicity and proliferative effects of each fraction were assessed based on the increase in the sphere diameter in before further analyses. The percentage of cells in active phases, cell cycle- or differentiation-associated genes were analyzed using flow cytometry and real-time RT-PCR. Results:Our results revealed that supplementing media with 200 µg/ml of ethanol Panax vietnamensis fraction significantly increased diameters of neurospheres, also maintained the growth rate of the neurospheres compared with the control within the five-day period. Moreover, the results also demonstrated that the ginseng ethanol fraction and a known neurotrophic protein, NGF, affected the differentiation of the neural stem cells.   Conclusion:200 µg/ml ethanol fraction from the extract of Panax vietnamensis most significantly induced the proliferation of cultured neural stem cells. However, the higher concentration of the fraction seemed not to maintain the growth of neurospheres. Regarding differentiation, the ethanol fraction of Vietnamese ginseng possibly shared similar mechanisms with the neurotrophic growth factor.

    Kurzfassung: Iron and calcium deficiencies remain a concern amongst working-age women in low to middle-income countries. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of nutritional intervention on the improvement of the iron status and calcium intake of this population. Non-pregnant workers at a company were divided into two groups. The intervention group (n=118) received nutritional intervention including nutritional education and an 8-week course of oral nutritional supplements (ONS). The control group (n=106) did not receive any intervention. Nutritional assessment, level of Hb concentration, serum iron, and ferritin were taken at baseline and after eight weeks. The results showed iron and calcium intake increased significantly in the intervention group. The effective intervention of serum iron was 33.3%. In conclusion, nutritional intervention such as nutritional education and ONS consumption is effective for improving iron status and calcium intake in working-age women.

    Kurzfassung: Mục tiêu nghiên cứu: Xác định tỷ lệ lo âu, căng thẳng, trầm cảm của bác sỹ Bệnh viện Nhi Trung ương trong đại dịch COVID- 19 năm 2020 -2022. Phương pháp: Nghiên cứu mô tả cắt ngang trên 239 bác sỹ có mặt đi làm tại thời điểm nghiên cứu và sử dụng thang đo DASS -21 để đánh giá sức khỏe tâm thần của bác sỹ tại Bệnh viện. Kết quả: Tuổi trung bình là 46,1; trong đó, dưới 35 tuổi chiếm 42,9%, có 54,8% là nữ giới và 85,4% đã kết hôn và đang sống cùng bạn đời, tham gia quản lý chiếm 29,7%. Theo thang đo DASS-21 tỷ lệ trầm cảm của bác sỹ là 14,6% trong đó có 0,8% là nặng và 3,8% là rất nặng. Tỷ lệ lo âu của bác sỹ tại Bệnh viện là 17,2% trong đó có 2,1% bị nặng và 5% là rất nặng. Tỷ lệ stress của bác sỹ là 14,6% trong đó có 2,9% ở mức độ nặng và 2,1% là rất nặng. Kết luận: Đại dịch COVID 19 có ảnh hưởng đáng kể đến sức khỏe tinh thần của nhân viên y tế là bác sỹ tại Bệnh viện Nhi Trung ương.
