Abstract: OBJECTIVE: Entering university is a challenge of autonomy and self/group affirmation. Particular attention should be given to healthy behaviors by all stakeholders and the university environment in general. The current study aimed to investigate the lifestyle of the first year students of the Universidade Católica Portuguesa - Porto (UCP). METHODS: The “FANTASTICO Lifestyle” questionnaire was applied in the “Critical Thinking” teaching sessions. The collected data were treated using the SPSS® program. RESULTS: It was found that although the overall lifestyle of these students is considered “good” with no differences between genders, 7.9% of students are in the lowest values in the category. The items in which the values were most disparate were physical activity/associativism, work/personality type, nutrition, and health/sexual behavior. The heavy weighting of the item “family/friends”stood out. CONCLUSIONS: It was concluded that the “FANTASTICO” was the first step towards a diagnosis and represents a starting point to evaluate the needs of these students. Although the situation can be considered favorable, it is important to begin planning interventions now, whether for promotion of the physical activity/associativism and nutrition component, or for control in the context of tobacco and alcohol consumption.

Abstract: Introduction: Though typically found in adolescents, acne frequently affects the adult population. In Portugal, no representative studies about acne prevalence in greater populational areas are known. This study had the following objectives: calculate acne prevalence in primary healthcare patients; its characteristics, including risk factors for onset and worsening; collect information concerning selfmedication and/or prescribed treatment.Material and Methods: Application of a questionnaire and physical examination into a convenience sample, composed by adults from20 - 60 years old that visited, in random days, five primary healthcare centers of the Greater Porto area. Results: From the 1,055 evaluated adults, acne prevalence was estimated at 61.5%. Only 36.8% of acne suffering adults was awareof their condition. More than half of tobacco users (62.3%) had acne. Just 25% of acne sufferers sought treatment. The most affected areas were the malars, differing from the younger disease form.Discussion: Acne prevalence was relatively higher than other studies. The results of this study have confirmed that acne seems to be related with increased calorie intake, tobacco smoking, whole milk and fat-reduced milk consumption, hirsutism, alopecia and seborrhea. Conclusion: In the primary healthcare set, more than half of adults were acne sufferers. These numbers show how important primary healthcare services can be in preventing and intervening when managing acne-related risk factors and psychosocial consequences.

Abstract: Context: Restriction in ankle dorsiflexion range of motion (ROM) has been previously associated with excessive dynamic knee valgus. This, in turn, has been correlated with knee pain in women with patellofemoral pain. Objectives: To investigate the immediate effect of 3 ankle mobilization techniques on dorsiflexion ROM, dynamic knee valgus, knee pain, and patient perceptions of improvement in women with patellofemoral pain and ankle dorsiflexion restriction. Design: Randomized controlled trial with 3 arms. Setting: Biomechanics laboratory. Participants: A total of 117 women with patellofemoral pain who display ankle dorsiflexion restriction were divided into 3 groups: ankle mobilization with anterior tibia glide (n = 39), ankle mobilization with posterior tibia glide (n = 39), and ankle mobilization with anterior and posterior tibia glide (n = 39). Intervention(s): The participants received a single session of ankle mobilization with movement technique. Main Outcome Measures: Dorsiflexion ROM (weight-bearing lunge test), dynamic knee valgus (frontal plane projection angle), knee pain (numeric pain rating scale), and patient perceptions of improvement (global perceived effect scale). The outcome measures were collected at the baseline, immediate postintervention (immediate reassessment), and 48 hours postintervention (48 h reassessment). Results: There were no significant differences between the 3 treatment groups regarding dorsiflexion ROM and patient perceptions of improvement. Compared with mobilization with anterior and posterior tibia glide, mobilization with anterior tibia glide promoted greater increase in dynamic knee valgus ( P  = .02) and greater knee pain reduction ( P  = .02) at immediate reassessment. Also compared with mobilization with anterior and posterior tibia glide, mobilization with posterior tibia glide promoted greater knee pain reduction ( P   〈  .01) at immediate reassessment. Conclusion: In our sample, the direction of the tibia glide in ankle mobilization accounted for significant changes only in dynamic knee valgus and knee pain in the immediate reassessment.

Abstract: RESUMO Objetivo: descrever os primeiros 13 casos de correção laparoscópica de cisto do ducto biliar comum no Hospital Pequeno Príncipe, Curitiba, Paraná, Brasil.

Abstract: Background: Glioblastoma (GBM) is the most common primary CNS tumor in adults. Between 65-70 years of age, treatment involves the best possible surgical removal followed by radiotherapy (RT), with or without temozolomide (TMZ). After assessing whether patients can tolerate TMZ, doubts regarding RT regimens persist in this age group. This study aimed to compare the overall survival (OS) in GBM patients aged 65-70 years, in two RT regimens with TMZ: Stupp (RT 60 Gy/30 fractions (fx)+TMZ) versus mini-Stupp (RT 40.05 Gy/15 fx+TMZ) and 2 regimens of RT without TMZ: 40 Gy/15 fx versus 25 Gy/5 fx.Methods: All GBM patients, 65-70 years, undergoing RT from 1 January 2014 to 31 December 2020 were retrieved and retrospectively evaluated. Patients were divided into 4 groups: group 1 was Stupp; group 2 was mini-Stupp; group 3 was 40,05 Gy/15 fx without TMZ; and group4 was 25 Gy/5 fx without TMZ.Results: Sixty patients were retrieved with median follow up of 12 months. In the analysis of groups 1 and 2, all variables were comparable (0.21 〈 p 〈 0.6). Median OS was 18 and 15 months, respectively, with no statistically significant difference (p=0.13). The OS at 2 years was 26% and 21% respectively, decreasing to 13% and 0% at 3 years.Analyzing groups 3 and 4, all variables were comparable (0.06 〈 p 〈 0.88). OS had no difference (p=0.5) with 7 months of median OS for both groups. Conclusions: From 65-70 years, if CHT is not viable, the 25 Gy/5 fx should be the standard. When CHT is possible, mini-Stupp appears to be equivalent to Stupp.
