Abstract: Red garifta is a mango variety that has an attractive appearance with sweet and fresh taste. It is one of the superior Indonesian fruits which having export potential. Therefore, improving the fruit quality is needed to increase market competitiveness. This study aimed to determine the effect of beeswax coating concentration and wrapping on the Red Garifta mango shelf life. There were two factors, first factor was beeswax concentration (0%, 2%, 4% and 6%), and the second factor was wrapping (without and wrapped with cardboard). The result revealed that 6% concentration beeswax is the best treatment throughout storage period with minimum loss of weight, extended color and proportional hardness. Wrapping also gave better effect on the color intensity, hardness, and less weight loss reduction. Therefore, it could be concluded that the treatment able to increase the red garifta mango shelf life.

Abstract: Clean Ecosystem service measurement model for urban population clean water monitoring Clean water as one of the ecosystem services and also a protected natural asset provides important information about the availability of natural resources for humans in response to the impacts of climate change and overall ecosystem health. The emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic which was exacerbated by the emergence of low-pressure areas for piped clean water services (PAM water) increasingly shows that if humans destroy biodiversity, it will have implications for other life support systems including clean water. This study identifies aspects of quantity, continuity, and quality (called 3K) of clean water from the piping system in the eastern part of DKI Jakarta, especially in areas with low pressure water supply. Through the Research and Development method, the aim of the study is to build a new model for measuring ecosystem services in monitoring clean water for residents in urban areas. Until the end of the first semester of 2020, the results of the study showed that it was true that there were areas with low pressure, but statistically it was not proven to significantly affect the emergence of complaints in terms of quantity, continuity, and quality of water supply to the population, so more in-depth parameters are needed. regarding the parameters of small water complaints (quantity), dead water (continuity), and piped clean water quality.

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the students’ phonological awareness in PAUD IT Ihya Assunah. Phonological awareness is a child’s sensitivity to the sound structure of spoken words. Phonological awareness not only interprets words, but also the scope of spoken language that is related to the ability to think sounds in words. This research was conducted at IT Ihya Assunnah. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach using descriptive methods. Data collection techniques in this study used the method of observations, tests, and interviews. The observations carried out both inside and outside the classroom to see children’s phonological awareness supported by the tests results, as well as interviews. The students of PAUD IT Ihya Assunnah is directly involved in the process of learning sound and sound games, they are able to mention words that have the same initial vocabulary, and segment words into syllables. The method used in raising phonological awareness is by detecting alliteration and single phonemes, spelling words, combining phonemes, and phoneme beats.

Abstract: This study is purposed to explore the antioxidant potency of various mangosteen (Garcinia mangostana L) pericarp extract fractions on HbA1c and fasting blood glucose level in diabetic mice. Study conducted using 3-4 months old male mice as models. Animal models split into 2 main groups; non-STZ normal control group and STZ-treated diabetic mice. STZ induced via multiple low dose method of 30 mg/kg BW administered for 5 days (given daily). Diabetic mice group then divided into 3 subgroups, which were diabetic control group, Metformin-HCl diabetic group, and treatment group given with various mangosteen pericarp extract fractions. Treatment group separated into 3 groups based on various fraction administered; 18 mg/kg BW non-polar (NP) fraction, 80 mg/kg BW semi-polar (SP) fraction, and 50 mg/kg BW polar (P) fraction. All fraction dose equals to 2.5 gram/kg BW of powdered mangosteen pericarp extract dry weight. Control group and various extract fractions treated for 14 days. Body weight, HbA1c, and fasting blood glucose level (after mice fasted for 5-6 hours) measured on 15th day. Result shows significant differences on HbA1c and fasting blood glucose level of treatment group compared to control group, specifically non-polar and polar fraction treatment significantly reduce HbA1c and fasting blood glucose level of diabetic mice.

Abstract: Bridge parapet is one the most critical part of the bridge superstructure, which functions as a safety feature during accident or collision at the edges of the bridge. For steel parapet railing, complete full-scale field testing needs to be carried out before installation of new parapet railing. Field testing not only expensive but also very time-consuming for preparation and testing works. In this study, a comparison between the results of an actual field test and numerical simulation works was investigated. The chosen 3S two-beam steel parapet had passed the field testing conducted by the Korean Transportation Safety Agency (KOTSA). For comparison, the performance of the steel parapet selected railing was simulated under impact loading of heavy trucks, whereby no passenger car test was conducted. The parapet railing design was modelled and simulated using the SolidWorks and the NASTRAN/PATRAN software, respectively. Five case studies were derived to ensure the reliability and accuracy of the obtained results. Case 3 recorded the lowest difference percentage of 3.6% for the maximum deformation of the parapet railing. However, other case study recorded more than 10% discrepancy of the maximum deformation (i.e. Case 1, 2, 4 and 5). It can be concluded that Case 3 as the right position where the impact load exerted during the field testing. These results proved that the numerical simulation results provide a reliable result for testing the quality of the parapet railing with a minimum cost and time required, consequently, tackle the shortcomings of the field testing.

Abstract: Chicken manure is rich in macro and micro nutrient compared to livestock manures. Unfortunately, it may also contain higher antibiotic residues that has to be minimized before applying as a manure. The objective of this research was to eliminate antibiotic residues in chicken manure using three kinds of decomposer. The experiment was conducted in greenhouse conditions. A completely randomized design with 5 replications was applied. The treatments consisted of chicken manure (CM) with 40% water content, composting CM with local microorganisms (MOL), composting CM with Consortium of Cellulolytic Fungi (CCF), and composting CM with commercial decomposer. Parameters measured were the content of Tetracycline, C, C/N, and CO 2 evolution. The results showed that applying microbial decomposer eliminated 100% Tetracycline residues after 4 weeks composting. The C content and C/N decreased 34.8 to 41.8% and 15.46 to 20.30% after 6 weeks composting, respectively. The highest CO 2 evolution resulted from the application of CCF and commercial decomposers. Composting chicken manure by CCF or commercial decomposer prior to be used as organic fertilizer are promising to eliminate antibiotic residues.
