    Abstract: With the higher penetrations of wind and photovoltaic power in system, the randomness of its outputs adds amounts of uncertainty to system generation planning and scheduling. This paper formulates a day-ahead power economic dispatch model based on the uncertainty information of wind and photovoltaic power prediction obtained by prediction interval of power with a certain probability. The costs of spinning reserve and interruptible load regarded as spinning reserve are also taken into consideration. The proposed model is solved by Cplex. Finally, the simulation example of system composed of 10-units proves the validity of the model.

    Abstract: Recently, a relativistic chiral nucleon–nucleon interaction was formulated up to leading order, which provides a good description of the phase shifts of J ≤ 1 partial waves [Chin. Phys. C 42 (2018) 014103]. Nevertheless, a separable regulator function that is not manifestly covariant was used in solving the relativistic scattering equation. In the present work, we first explore a covariant and separable form factor to regularize the kernel potential and then apply it to study the simplest but most challenging 1 S 0 channel which features several low-energy scales. In addition to being self-consistent, we show that the resulting relativistic potential can describe quite well the unique features of the 1 S 0 channel at leading order, in particular the pole position of the virtual bound state and the zero amplitude at the scattering momentum ∼ 340 MeV, indicating that the relativistic formulation may be more natural from the viewpoint of effective field theories.

    Abstract: We present experimental observations of soliton pulsations in the net normal-dispersion fiber laser by using the dispersive Fourier transform (DFT) technique. According to the pulsating characteristics, the soliton pulsations are classified as visible and invisible soliton pulsations. The visible soliton pulsation is converted from single- into dual-soliton pulsation with the common characteristics of energy oscillation and bandwidth breathing. The invisible soliton pulsation undergoes periodic variation in the spectral profile and peak power but remains invariable in pulse energy. The reason for invisible soliton pulsation behavior is periodic oscillation of the pulse inside the soliton molecule. These results could be helpful in deepening our understanding of the soliton pulsation phenomena.

    Abstract: Taxol is a precious and effective anticancer drug. Cerium and methyl jasmonate (MJ) have been shown to increase the yield of taxol in taxus cells. However, the mechanisms of cerium-mediated and MJ-mediated taxol biosynthesis remain unknown. RNA-Seq was applied to study the overall regulation mechanism of cerium and MJ on taxol biosynthesis and analyze the differences among T. mairei cells elicited by Ce 3+ , Ce 4+ and MJ on transcriptional level . Using sequence homology, 179 unigenes were identified as taxol synthesis genes. Under the condition of 100 μM MJ, taxol synthesis genes were up-regulated. Notably, taxol synthesis genes were down-regulated expression at 1 mM Ce 3+ and 1 mM Ce 4+ . Differential expression genes involved in some related functions were analyzed, such as MAPK signaling pathway and plant-pathogen interaction. Sequence alignment and phylogenetic analysis of nine differentially expressed WRKYs in our data were carried out.

    Abstract: Lasers with cavities consisting of retroreflecting elements can give the potential for large-dynamic-range alignment-free operation, which makes the important applications in adaptive wireless laser power transfer/communication possible. In such an emerging approach based on resonant laser beam in the cavity, the laser is delivered to the photovoltaic cell for charging application (or photodiode for communication application) at the receiver automatically, without the necessity of positioning and aiming the receiver in conventional laser wireless power transfer techniques. The laser capable of operating alignment-free efficiently across large-dynamic-range is essential for the application. In this work, the requirements for the dynamic range of alignment-free operation are summarized. An alignment-free laser with a cavity consisting of cat-eye retroreflectors is designed, and a large alignment-free dynamic range as never before is experimentally demonstrated. Telescope system in the laser cavity is adopted to suppress the beam expansion to enhance the working distance between the laser transmitter and the receiver. Coupled cavity scheme is used to reduce the laser intensity between the transmitter and the receiver for laser safety. By calculating the stability zone of the laser cavity, it is found that the stability zone of the receiver cat-eye distance is quite narrow. Hence, the laser operation is very sensitive to the defocusing of the cat eye defocusing. Moreover, the cat eye defocusing induced by optical aberrations of spherical aberration and field curvature can be rather serious, when the long working distance results in a large beam size and the angle of incidence is large, hence limiting the effective working distance and the field of view of the alignment-free laser significantly. In the experiment, the improved optical designs with the aberrations compensation are adopted for large-dynamic-range alignment-free operation. The end-pumped Nd:GdVO〈sub〉4〈/sub〉 laser at 1063 nm can deliver over 5-W output within a working distance range of 1–5 m, and a receiver field of view of ±30°, without cavity realignment. The transmitter field of view reaching 4.6° (full width at half maximum) at a working distance of 5 m is also realized, with a corresponding receiver transverse movement range of 40 cm. Our work clarifies the optimizing criteria of the large-dynamic-range alignment-free laser based on cat-eye retroreflectors.

    Abstract: The study investigated the genotypic changes and epidemiologic features of norovirus outbreaks and factors influencing the attack rate and outbreak duration in Wuxi from 2014 to 2018. Norovirus outbreaks, monitored through surveillance system, were investigated. The norovirus-positive specimens from outbreaks were collected and genotyped using a dual polymerase-capsid genotyping protocol based on a one-step polymerase chain reaction (PCR) amplicon. The genotypes were analyzed by Norovirus Typing Tool Version 2.0. A total of 74 norovirus outbreaks were reported in Wuxi from 2014 to 2018. Most (93.2%) norovirus outbreaks were caused by GII genotypes. The predominant norovirus genotypes in outbreaks have changed from GII.17 (20.3%) in 2014–2015 to GII.P16/GII.2 (40.5%) in 2017–2018. GII.P16/GII.2 in 2017–2018 season were more prevalent than GII.17 in 2014–2015 season (χ 2 = 4.741, P = 0.029). 56.7% of the outbreaks occurred in primary schools. The re-outbreak rate was 16.2%. 66.7% of re-outbreaks were caused by norovirus variants different from previous genotypes. Outbreaks in nonprimary school settings (odds ratio [OR]: 4.007; 95% CI: 1.247–12.876) and those leading to temporary school or institution closure (OR: 20.510; 95% CI: 1.806–232.937) were reported with a higher attack rate. The outbreaks in primary schools (OR: 4.248; 95% CI: 1.211–14.903), re-outbreaks (OR: 6.433; 95% CI: 1.103–37.534) and longer report timing (OR: 8.380; 95% CI: 2.259–31.089) declared a significantly longer duration. It is of great importance that the monitoring of norovirus outbreaks for the emergence of novel strains, along with responsive prevention and control intervention should be strengthened in adults and school-age population, especially in primary students and preschool children.

    Abstract: The present study aimed to investigate alterations in neuroinflammation after heart failure (HF) and explore the potential mechanisms. Methods Male wild-type (WT) and Toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4)-knockout (KO) mice were subjected to sham operation or ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery to induce HF. 8 weeks later, cardiac functions were analyzed by echocardiography, and intestinal barrier functions were examined by measuring tight junction protein expression, intestinal permeability and plasma metabolite levels. Alterations in neuroinflammation in the brain were examined by measuring microglial activation, inflammatory cytokine levels and the proinflammatory signaling pathway. The intestinal barrier protector intestinal alkaline phosphatase (IAP) and intestinal homeostasis inhibitor L-phenylalanine (L-Phe) were used to examine the relationship between intestinal barrier dysfunction and neuroinflammation in mice with HF. Results Eight weeks later, WT mice with HF displayed obvious increases in intestinal permeability and plasma lipopolysaccharide (LPS) levels, which were accompanied by elevated expression of TLR4 in the brain and enhanced neuroinflammation. Treatment with the intestinal barrier protector IAP significantly attenuated neuroinflammation after HF while effectively increasing plasma LPS levels. TLR4-KO mice showed significant improvements in HF-induced neuroinflammation, which was not markedly affected by intestinal barrier inhibitors or protectors. Conclusion HF could induce intestinal barrier dysfunction and increase gut-to-blood translocation of LPS, which could further promote neuroinflammation through the TLR4 pathway.

    Abstract: The MeGolS5 promoter fragment (1492 bp) was amplified from the genomic DNA of Manihot esculenta Crantz by inverse polymerase chain reaction. Promoter sequence analysis by PLACE and PlantCARE showed that the cloned fragment contained several putative cis -elements, such as abscisic acid response element (ABRE), heat shock elements (HSE), as well as TATA-Box and CAAT-Box. The expression prfile of MeGolS5 shows that the gene is induced by several abiotic stresses, such as salt, drought, H 2 O 2 and ABA.
