Abstract: Combination drugs including antibiotics are frequently used for additional therapeutic effects. This fact raises the need for effective methods to simultaneously determine antibiotics of different classes. In this study, four antibiotics including vancomycin, cefoperazone, sulbactam, and ceftriaxone were determined simultaneously by capillary electrophoresis with capacitively coupled contactless conductivity detection (CE-C4D). The analytical conditions including effective length of silica capillary, background electrolyte solutions, separation voltages, and injection modes are investigated. The selected analytical conditions were: silica capillary (internal diameter 50 μm, total length 60 cm, effective length 30 cm); background electrolyte solution 10 Mm L-arginine/acetic acid (pH 9.2); separation voltage +17 kV; siphoning hydrodynamic sample injection at 10 cm height for 20 s. Limits of detection (LOD) of vancomycin, cefoperazone, sulbactam, and ceftriaxone were 2.0 ppm, 1.5 ppm, 1.0 ppm, and 2.0 ppm, respectively. Good linearity (R2 〉 0.999) was achieved for all the target compounds until concentrations as high as 100 ppm. Analytical results of blank-spike samples indicate acceptable recovery (97.5% - 100.4%) and repeatability (RSD: 0.99% - 3.04%). The validated method has been applied to determine these four antibiotics in several pharmaceutical samples. Good agreement between results of our method and the LC-MS/MS method, suggesting CE-C4D is a reliable and cost-effective method in pharmaceutical analysis.

Abstract: A Particularly Sensitive Sea Area (PSSA) is an important management tool for biodiversity protection of a marine area. At the time of designation of a Particularly Sensitive Sea Area, an associated protective measure, which meets the requirements of the appropriate legal instrument establishing such measure, must have been approved or adopted by IMO to prevent, reduce, or eliminate the threat or identified vulnerability. Information on each of the Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas (PSSAs) that has been designated by IMO is available on the nautical chart. The Vietnam’s coastal zones and islands are the isolated oceanic habitat of extremely rich marine life in very good condition which is important to the maintenance and dispersal of the marine life of the western tropical Pacific. Vietnam coastal areas are very high risk areas affected by maritime activities, particularly international shipping, therefore in the future identification of some Particularly Sensitive Sea Areas (PSSAs) is necessary. The first Particularly Sensitive Sea Area for Vietnam in Ha Long - Cat Ba was initially proposed in this paper.

Abstract: Automatic speech recognition (ASR) is gaining huge advances with the arrival of End-to-End architectures. Semi-supervised learning methods, which can utilize unlabeled data, have largely contributed to the success of ASR systems, giving them the ability to surpass human performance. However, most of the researches focus on developing these techniques for English speech recognition, which raises concern about their performance in other languages, especially in low-resource scenarios. In this paper, we aim at proposing a Vietnamese ASR system for participating in the VLSP 2021 Automatic Speech Recognition Shared Task. The system is based on the Wav2vec 2.0 framework, along with the application of self-training and several data augmentation techniques. Experimental results show that on the ASR-T1 test set of the shared task, our proposed model achieved a remarkable result, ranked as the second place with a Syllable Error Rate (SyER) of 11.08%.

Abstract: Autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation therapy has been widely used in recent decades for the treatment of hematological diseases, cancer, and autoimmune diseases. In autoimmune diseases, self-activated T lymphocytes and B lymphocytes secreting antibodies against host antigens are considered to be central in the pathogenesis of the disease. Autologous stem cell products that eliminates these pathological cells could be a lifesaver for patients with autoimmune diseases who are resistant to conventional therapy, in order to restore a healthy immune system, achieve long-term remission and limited recurrence. The aims of this study was to complete and evaluate the results of the CD34 positive stem cells purification procedure from a myasthenia gravis patient’s mobilized peripheral blood stem cells, for the purpose of autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation for Myasthenia gravis as well as other autoimmune diseases in Vietnam. We have completed the purification procedure of CD34-positive stem cells from mobilized peripheral blood stem cells of patient with myasthenia gravis using CliniMACS system with results of removing 99.99% of T lymphocytes; 99.81% of B lymphocytes; 99.99% of NK cells, while CD34+ recovery performance was 64.05% with CD34+ cell survival rate of over 99%, no bacterial contamination, ensuring quality assurance of stem cell product for transplantation.

Abstract: This study examined the effect of stocking density on growth and survival of tilapia cultured in biofloc technology system. Three different stocking densities cultured in biofloc technology were 6 fish/m3, 8 fish/m3 and 10 fish/m3 for 86 days in triplicate for each treatment. The stocking density of the control lot was 3 fish/m3 cultured without biofloc technology. Initial stocking weight ranged from 2–3 g/fish. The water quality parameters were monitored and regulated in the suitable ranges for biofloc technology and for the growth and development of tilapia. The results showed that specific growth rate of fish cultured at a density of 6 fish/m3 was higher than that in the treatments of 8 fish/m3 and 10 fish/m3 with the average values of 5.72%; 5.62% and 5.43%, respectively, and the specific growth rate of fish in the control treatment was 5.71%. Daily growth rate of fish cultured at a density of 6 fish/m3 was higher than that cultured at densities of 8 fish/m3 and 10 fish/m3 with average values of 3.19 g/day, 2.98 g/day, and 2.55 g/day, respectively; and the daily growth rate of the control treatment was 3.27 g/day. Survival rate of tilapia cultured at densities of 6 fish/m3 and 8 fish/m3 was 100%, whereas survival rate of tilapia cultured at a density of 10 fish/m3 was 95.75%, and it was 88.9% for the control lot. The research results provide a scientific basis to propose tilapia culture technique in biofloc technology in brackish water, with the density of 6–8 fish/m3.

Abstract:  In this paper, the corrosion resistances obtained after five year exposure of zinc coatings, trivalent chrome conversion coatings (CCCs) and hexavalent CCCs on zinc electroplatings are compared and discussed. The compositions of corrosion products of sample surfaces after exposure are investigated. The results of analysis by means of X-ray diffraction show that the corrosion products formed on zinc coatings, trivalent CCCs, hexavalent CCCs in atmospheric conditions of Hanoi have the distinctions specialty of the humid tropical climates. Zinc sulfate hydroxide hydrate Zn4SO4(OH)6.H2O; Zinc carbonate hydroxide hydrate Zn4CO3(OH)6.H2O; Simonkolleite Zn5(OH)8Cl2.H2O; Chromium Sulfate Cr2(SO4)3; Zinc chloride sulfate hydroxide hydrat Zn12(OH)15(SO4)3Cl3.H2O; Eskolaite Cr2O3 have been identified. The presence of SO2 results in the formation of Zinc sulfate hydroxide hydrate Zn4SO4(OH)6.H2O. After 5 years of exposure in atmospheric conditions, the hexavalent CCCs on zinc coatings have show the best corrosion resistance and the least corrosion products. The corrosion resistance of the samples decreases in the order: 747 〉 SP25 ~ TM 3108 〉 Zn.

Abstract: The current article is concerned with the interaction of Rayleigh waves with surface defects of arbitrary shape in a homogeneous, isotropic, linearly elastic half-space. Using a linear superposition principle, the interaction generates a scattered field which is equivalent to the field radiated from a distribution of horizontal and vertical tractions on the surface of the defect. These tractions are equal in magnitude but opposite in sign to the corresponding tractions obtained from the incident wave. The scattered field is then computed as the superposition of the displacements radiated from the tractions at every point of the defect surface using the reciprocity theorem approach. The far-field vertical displacements are compared with calculations obtained by the boundary element method (BEM) for circular, rectangular, triangular and arbitrary-shaped defects. Comparisons between the theoretical and BEM results, which are graphically displayed, are in excellent agreement. It is also discussed the limitations of the proposed approximate theory. Keywords: half-space; Rayleigh wave; surface defect; reciprocity theorem; boundary element method (BEM).

Abstract: We present new results for the theoretical prediction of doubly-polarized cross sections of \(WZ\) events at the LHC using leptonic decays. Compared to the previous studies, two new kinematic cuts are considered. These cuts are designed to enhance the doubly-longitudinal (LL) polarization and, at the same time, study the Radiation Amplitude Zero effect. We found a new cut on the rapidity separation between the \(Z\) boson and the electron from the \(W\) decay which makes the LL fraction largest, namely \(|\Delta y_{Z,e}| 〈 0.5\). This result is obtained at the next-to-leading order in the strong and electroweak couplings.
