    Abstract: Although mindfulness-based mind-body therapy (MBMBT) is an effective non-surgical treatment for patients with non-specific low back pain (NLBP), the best MBMBT mode of treatment for NLBP patients has not been identified. Therefore, a network meta-analysis (NMA) was conducted to compare the effects of different MBMBTs in the treatment of NLBP patients. Methods PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, and Web of Science databases were searched for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) applying MBMBT for the treatment of NLBP patients, with all of the searches ranging from the time of database creation to January 2023. After 2 researchers independently screened the literature, extracted information, and evaluated the risks of biases in the included studies, the data were analyzed by using Stata 16.0 software. Results A total of 46 RCTs were included, including 3,886 NLBP patients and 9 MBMBT (Yoga, Ayurvedic Massage, Pilates, Craniosacral Therapy, Meditation, Meditation + Yoga, Qigong, Tai Chi, and Dance). The results of the NMA showed that Craniosacral Therapy [surface under the cumulative ranking (SUCRA): 99.2 and 99.5%] ranked the highest in terms of improving pain and disability, followed by Other Manipulations (SUCRA: 80.6 and 90.8%) and Pilates (SUCRA: 54.5 and 71.2%). In terms of improving physical health, Craniosacral Therapy (SUCRA: 100%) ranked the highest, followed by Pilates (SUCRA: 72.3%) and Meditation (SUCRA: 55.9%). In terms of impr oving mental health, Craniosacral Therapy (SUCRA: 100%) ranked the highest, followed by Meditation (SUCRA: 70.7%) and Pilates (SUCRA: 63.2%). However, in terms of improving pain, physical health, and mental health, Usual Care (SUCRA: 7.0, 14.2, and 11.8%, respectively) ranked lowest. Moreover, in terms of improving disability, Dance (SUCRA: 11.3%) ranked lowest. Conclusion This NMA shows that Craniosacral Therapy may be the most effective MBMBT in treating NLBP patients and deserves to be promoted for clinical use.     Abstract: To investigate the values of a 3D-printed bolus ensuring the precise postmastectomy chest wall radiation therapy for breast cancer. Methods and materials In the preclinical study on the anthropomorphic phantom, the 3D-printed bolus was used for dosimetry and fitness evaluation. The dosimetric parameters of planning target volume (PTV) were assessed, including D min , D max , D mean , D 95% , homogeneity index (HI), conformity index (CI), and organs at risk (OARs). The absolute percentage differences (|%diff|) between the theory and fact skin dose were also estimated, and the follow-up was conducted for potential skin side effects. Results In preclinical studies, a 3D-printed bolus can better ensure the radiation coverage of PTV (HI 0.05, CI 99.91%), the dose accuracy (|%diff| 0.99%), and skin fitness (mean air gap 1.01 mm). Of the 27 eligible patients, we evaluated the radiation dose parameter (median(min–max): D min 4967(4789–5099) cGy, D max 5447(5369–5589) cGy, D mean 5236(5171–5323) cGy, D 95% 5053(4936–5156) cGy, HI 0.07 (0.06–0.17), and CI 99.94% (97.41%–100%)) and assessed the dose of OARs (ipsilateral lung: D mean 1341(1208–1385) cGy, V 5 48.06%(39.75%–48.97%), V 20 24.55%(21.58%–26.93%), V 30 18.40%(15.96%–19.16%); heart: D mean 339(138–640) cGy, V 30 1.10%(0%–6.14%), V 40 0.38%(0%–4.39%); spinal cord PRV: D max 639(389–898) cGy). The skin doses in vivo were D theory 208.85(203.16–212.53) cGy, D fact 209.53(204.14–214.42) cGy, and |%diff| 1.77% (0.89–2.94%). Of the 360 patients enrolled in the skin side effect follow-up study (including the above 27 patients), grade 1 was the most common toxicity (321, 89.2%), some of which progressing to grade 2 or grade 3 (32, 8.9% or 7, 1.9%); the radiotherapy interruption rate was 1.1%. Conclusion A 3D-printed bolus can guarantee the precise radiation dose on skin surface, good fitness to skin, and controllable acute skin toxicity, which possesses a great clinical application value in postmastectomy chest call radiation therapy for breast cancer.

    Abstract: During the procedure of radiotherapy for superficial tumors, the key to treatment is to ensure that the skin surface receives an adequate radiation dose. However, due to the presence of the built-up effect of high-energy rays, equivalent tissue compensators (boluses) with appropriate thickness should be placed on the skin surface to increase the target radiation dose. Traditional boluses do not usually fit the skin perfectly. Wet gauze is variable in thickness day to day which results in air gaps between the skin and the bolus. These unwanted but avoidable air gaps lead to a decrease of the radiation dose in the target area and can have a poor effect on the outcome. Three-dimensional (3D) printing, a new rising technology named “additive manufacturing” (AM), could create physical models with specific shapes from digital information by using special materials. It has been favored in many fields because of its advantages, including less waste, low-cost, and individualized design. It is not an exception in the field of radiotherapy, personalized boluses made through 3D printing technology also make up for a number of shortcomings of the traditional commercial bolus. Therefore, an increasing number of researchers have tried to use 3D-printed boluses for clinical applications rather than commercial boluses. Here, we review the 3D-printed bolus’s material selection and production process, its clinical applications, and potential radioactive dermatitis. Finally, we discuss some of the challenges that still need to be addressed with the 3D-printed boluses.

    Abstract: Objective. To develop and evaluate a multi-path synergic fusion (MSF) deep neural network model for breast mass classification using digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT). Methods. We retrospectively collected 441 patients who had undergone DBT in which the regions of interest (ROIs) covering the malignant/benign breast mass were extracted for model training and validation. In the proposed MSF framework, three multifaceted representations of the breast mass (gross mass, overview, and mass background) are extracted from the ROIs and independently processed by a multi-scale multi-level features enforced DenseNet (MMFED). The three MMFED sub-models are finally fused at the decision level to generate the final prediction. The advantages of the MMFED over the original DenseNet, as well as different fusion strategies embedded in MSF, were comprehensively compared. Results. The MMFED was observed to be superior to the original DenseNet, and multiple channel fusions in the MSF outperformed the single-channel MMFED and double-channel fusion with the best classification scores of area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve (87.03%), Accuracy (81.29%), Sensitivity (74.57%), and Specificity (84.53%) via the weighted fusion method embedded in MSF. The decision level fusion-based MSF was significantly better (in terms of the ROC curve) than the feature concatenation-based fusion ( p 〈 0.05), the single MMFED using a fused three-channel image ( p 〈 0.04), and the multiple MMFED end-to-end training ( p 〈 0.004). Conclusions. Integrating multifaceted representations of the breast mass tends to increase benign/malignant mass classification performance and the proposed methodology was verified to be a promising tool to assist in clinical breast cancer screening.

    Abstract: Senecavirus A (SVA) belongs to the genus Senecavirus in the family Picornaviridae . PIWI-interacting RNAs (piRNAs) are a class of small Ribonucleic Acids (RNAs) that have been found in mammalian cells in recent years. However, the expression profile of piRNAs in the host during SVA infection and their roles are poorly understood. Methods Here, we found the significant differential expression of 173 piRNAs in SVA-infected porcine kidney (PK-15) cells using RNA-seq and 10 significant differentially expressed (DE) piRNAs were further verified by qRT-PCR. Results GO annotation analysis showed that metabolism, proliferation, and differentiation were significantly activated after SVA infection. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) analysis revealed that significant DE piRNAs were mainly enriched in AMPK pathway, Rap1 pathway, circadian rhythm and VEGF pathway. It was suggested that piRNAs may regulated antiviral immunity, intracellular homeostasis, and tumor activities during SVA infection. In addition, we found that the expression levels of the major piRNA-generating genes BMAL1 and CRY1 were significantly downregulated after SVA infection. Discussion This suggests that SVA may affect circadian rhythm and promote apoptosis by inhibiting the major piRNA-generating genes BMAL1 and CRY1 . The piRNA transcriptome in PK-15 cells has never been reported before, and this study will further the understanding of the piRNA regulatory mechanisms underlying SVA infections.
