    Abstract: In situ synchrotron X-ray diffraction was used to study a deformed Cu-0.88 Fe-0.24 P alloy during heating process. The measurements were performed at room temperature and also at high temperatures up to 893 K in order to determine the recovery, ageing and recrystallization process. With the increase of temperature, the angles of copper matrix peaks moved left and the FWHM (full width at half maximum) decreased slightly. Fe 3 P precipitates were first detected at 533 K, reached the maximum at 673 K, and re-dissolved into matrix at 853 K. A dramatic decrease in FWHM was observed accompanied by the precipitation of Fe 3 P phases, indicating the reduction of lattice distortion of copper matrix.

    Abstract: Due to the requirements of on-line detection of grinding force in the grinding process, this paper utilizes the structural characteristics of ultra-precision grinder with double-spindle and single-workstation, and then presents a grinding dynamometer based on piezoelectric effect of quartz crystals. Besides, the grinder dynamometer can measure grinding force in three directions, and the static properties of dynamometer are experimentally tested in a special experiment table. Moreover, the on-line static calibration and the actual grinding experiment of dynamometer installed in the silicon wafer grinder are performed. The results indicate that the grinding dynamometer has satisfactory static properties, that is, the linearity and repeatability are less than 1%, and the cross-talks are also less than 5%. As a result, each indicator has full reached the operating requirements in using of large diameter silicon wafer grinding force measuring.

    Abstract: For the jack-up platforms' huge size and complex structure, as well as the variation and complexity of their ambient corrosion environment, problems often arise in cathodic protection (CP) systems. The rise of the computer and the numerical simulation technology provide a new technical method to the prediction, evaluation and optimization of CP system for jack-up platform. Numerical simulation method has the advantage of examining potential maps of the entire structure easily and then the designer can determine the number and placement of anodes required to provide protection from the under and over protection regions based on a generic polarization response. In this paper the 3-D boundary element method was used to calculate the mathematical model of sacrificial anode CP system for a jack-up platform. Introduced piecewise quasi linearized method to deal with nonlinear problem of boundary conditions. Adopt block boundary element method to solve electrolyte inconsistency problem and points regional modeling to solve electrolyte discontinuous. From the results we can conclude that the jack-up platform sacrificial anode CP system meets the protection targets.

    Abstract: The light load linear reciprocating motion device driven by a small-size pneumatic cylinder is most economical, but its velocity and location precision is not good. When substituting the drive for small-size hydraulic cylinder, the significant shortcoming is environmental pollution. If the motion is achieved through rolling screw-nut mechanism driven by stepping motor, the space layout is very inconvenient. A light load linear reciprocating motion device integrating mechanical, electronic and hydraulic technology is designed. In this device, the motion is achieved through short-stroke rolling screw-nut mechanism driven by stepping motor, and then amplified by a splendid internal reflux area effect stroke amplifier. This device has the following noticeable advantages: (1) The location of output hydraulic cylinder is as convenient as common pneumatic or hydraulic cylinder. (2) The frequency, displacement and velocity of reciprocating motion can be altered convenient by programming. (3) Higher position precision. (4) The hydraulic fluid in the device is enclosed, so there is no environmental pollution causing by oil leakage and volatilization.

    Abstract: TiB 2 -SiC-Si composite was fabricated by reaction bonding. The influence of carbon content on the phase compositions, microstructure, density and mechanical properties was studied. The results showed that the composite consists of TiB 2 , SiC and Si phases. The vol% of SiC increased with the increase of C contents, while that of TiB 2 and free silicon reduced respectively. The mechanical properties of TiB 2 -SiC-Si composites are improved initially and then deteriorated with the increase in C contents of which the optimal amount is 8 %. The optimum open porosity, volume density, Vikers-hardness, flexural strength and fracture toughness of the obtained TiB 2 -SiC-Si composite are 0.12 %, 3.73 g/cm 3 , 17 GPa, 290 MPa and 5.9 MPa·m 1/2 , respectively.
