    Abstract: The increasing penetration of distributed generation resources demands better economic performance of microgrids under the smart-grid era. In this paper, a comprehensive environmental-economic dispatch method for smart microgrids is proposed, with the objective for minimizing the summation of generation and emission costs in the system. As the proposed model belongs to a large-scale nonlinear and nonconvex programming problem, a hybrid heuristic algorithm, named variable step-size chaotic fuzzy quantum genetic algorithm (VSS_QGA), is developed. The algorithm utilizes complementarity among multiple techniques including the variable step size optimization, the rotation mutational angle fuzzy control, and the quantum genetic algorithm and combines them so as to solve problems with superior accuracy and efficiency. The effectiveness of the proposed model is demonstrated through a case study on an actual microgrid system and the advantages in the performance of VSS_QGA is also verified through the comparison with genetic algorithm (GA), the evolutionary programming approach (EP), the quantum genetic algorithm (QGA), and the chaotic quantum genetic algorithm (CQGA).

    Abstract: Ensemble learning is to employ multiple individual classifiers and combine their predictions, which could achieve better performance than a single classifier. Considering that different base classifier gives different contribution to the final classification result, this paper assigns greater weights to the classifiers with better performance and proposes a weighted voting approach based on differential evolution. After optimizing the weights of the base classifiers by differential evolution, the proposed method combines the results of each classifier according to the weighted voting combination rule. Experimental results show that the proposed method not only improves the classification accuracy, but also has a strong generalization ability and universality.

    Abstract: We introduce the compound interest rate into the continuous version of the online leasing problem and discuss the generalized model by competitive analysis. On the one hand, the optimal deterministic strategy and its competitive ratio are obtained; on the other hand, a nearly optimal randomized strategy is constructed and a lower bound for the randomized competitive ratios is proved by Yao's principle. With the help of numerical examples, the theoretical results show that the interest rate puts off the purchase date and diminishes the uncertainty involved in the decision making.

    Abstract: This paper investigates the problem of dependent stability criteria for neutral type neural networks with mixed time-varying delays. Firstly, some new delay-dependent stability results are obtained by employing the more general partitioning approach and generalizing the famous Jensen inequality. Secondly, based on a new type of Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional with the cross terms of variables, less conservative stability criteria are proposed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Furthermore, it is the first time that the idea of second-order convex combination and the property of quadratic convex function applied to the derivation of neutral type neural networks play an important role in reducing the conservatism of the paper. Finally, four numerical examples are given to show the effectiveness and the advantage of the proposed method.

    Abstract: Navigation safety has a huge impact on the world economy and our everyday lives. One navigation safety simulation model in ECDIS based on international standard format (S-57) is put forward, which is mainly involved in route plan and route monitoring. The universal kriging interpolation is used in the route planning and to compute the water depth of any place in the sea bottom. The man-machine conversation method is taken to amend planned route to obtain autodeciding of feasibility according to ECDIS information, and the route monitoring algorithm is improved by enhancing its precision caused by screen coordinate conversion. The DCQA (distance close quarters situation of approach) model and TCQA (time close quarters situation of approach) model are adopted to judge if the close quarters situation or the risk of collision between own ship and target ship is emerging. All these methods are proven to be reliable through the navigation simulator made by Dalian Maritime University which is certified by DNV to class A.

    Abstract: We propose an approach for constructing Lyapunov function in quadratic form of a differential system. First, positive polynomial system is obtained via the local property of the Lyapunov function as well as its derivative. Then, the positive polynomial system is converted into an equation system by adding some variables. Finally, numerical technique is applied to solve the equation system. Some experiments show the efficiency of our new algorithm.

    Abstract: We investigate multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems with arguments taking the form of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers. In order to relieve influence of unfair arguments, a Gaussian distribution-based argument-dependent weighting method and a hybrid support-function-based argument-dependent weighting method are devised by, respectively, measuring support degrees of arguments indirectly and directly, based on which the Gaussian generalized interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted averaging operator (Gaussian-GIIFOWA) and geometric operator (Gaussian-GIIFOWG), the power generalized interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy ordered weighted averaging (P-GIIFOWA) operator and geometric (P-GIIFOWA) operator are proposed to generalize a wide range of aggregation operators for decision makers to flexibly choose in decision modelling. And some desirable properties of the proposed operators are also analyzed. Further, application of an approach integrating proposed operators to exploitation investment evaluation of tourist spots has shown the effectiveness and practicality of developed methods; experimental results also verify the properties of proposed operators.

    Abstract: Function matrices, in which elements are functions rather than numbers, are widely used in model analysis of dynamic systems such as control systems and robotics. In safety-critical applications, the dynamic systems are required to be analyzed formally and accurately to ensure their correctness and safeness. Higher-order logic (HOL) theorem proving is a promise technique to match the requirement. This paper proposes a higher-order logic formalization of the function vector and the function matrix theories using the HOL theorem prover, including data types, operations, and their properties, and further presents formalization of the differential and integral of function vectors and function matrices. The formalization is implemented as a library in the HOL system. A case study, a formal analysis of differential of quadratic functions, is presented to show the usefulness of the proposed formalization.
