    Abstract: The computer simulation of the membrane bioreactor MBR has become the research focus of the MBR simulation. In order to compensate for the defects, for example, long test period, high cost, invisible equipment seal, and so forth, on the basis of conducting in-depth study of the mathematical model of the MBR, combining with neural network theory, this paper proposed a three-dimensional simulation system for MBR wastewater treatment, with fast speed, high efficiency, and good visualization. The system is researched and developed with the hybrid programming of VC++ programming language and OpenGL, with a multifactor linear regression model of affecting MBR membrane fluxes based on neural network, applying modeling method of integer instead of float and quad tree recursion. The experiments show that the three-dimensional simulation system, using the above models and methods, has the inspiration and reference for the future research and application of the MBR simulation technology.

    Abstract: The aim of this paper is to discuss the uniqueness of the difference monomials f n f ( z + c ) . It assumed that f and g are transcendental entire functions with finite order and E k ) ( 1 , f n f ( z + c ) ) = E k ) ( 1 , g n g ( z + c ) ) , where c is a nonzero complex constant and n , k are integers. It is proved that if one of the following holds (i) n ≥ 6 and k = 3 , (ii) n ≥ 7 and k = 2 , and (iii) n ≥ 10 and k = 1 , then f g = t 1 or f = t 2 g for some constants t 2 and t 3 which satisfy t 2 n + 1 = 1 and t 3 n + 1 = 1 . It is an improvement of the result of Qi, Yang and Liu.

    Abstract: Pigging in pipelines basically performs operations for five reasons including cleaning the pipe interior, batching or separating dissimilar products, displacement, measurement, and internal inspection. A model has been proposed for the dynamic simulation of the pigging process after water pressure testing in a long slope pipeline. In this study, an attempt has been made to analyze two serious accidents during pigging operation in 2010 by the model which is developed by the method of characteristic (MOC) by Wylie et al. (1993) and the two-phase homogeneous equilibrium vaporous cavitation model deveoped by Shu (2003) for vaporous cavitation. Moreover, simulation results of the third operation show good agreement with field data from the previous field trial. After investigation, it was showed that the impulse pressures produced during collapse of a vapor cavity result in severe damage of tubes.
