Abstract:
Aa IPPI 1 , an element of the gene‐to‐terpene network associated with artemisinin biosynthesis, catalyzes isomerization of IPP and DMAPP . Its overexpression in the cytosol alters terpenoid metabolism and increases the production of arteannuin B, artemisinin, and artemisinic acid. This research shows that network‐based metabolic engineering is effective for improving the production of medicinal metabolites.
