Abstract: An effective and accurate poverty-alleviation system is necessary for eradicating poverty and promoting regional economic and social growth. Performance evaluation plays a key role in developing a precise poverty-alleviation policy. However, systematic performance evaluation of precise poverty-alleviation efforts has been largely ignored in the literature. This study sorts the poverty-alleviation performance of 10 major urban areas in Shaanxi Province using the count and analysis method. The empirical findings show that among poverty indexes, the yield of agricultural products has the greatest impact on poverty alleviation. Furthermore, the poverty-alleviation performance of Xianyang, Weinan, and Ankang is relatively high. The efforts of Xi’an and Baoji are at the middle level, and those of Tongchuan and Yan’an are at a relatively low level. This paper identifies the poverty alleviation performance status for each area at the indicator level and then offers a corresponding analysis and proposes countermeasures.

Abstract: With the data from the Web of Science Core Collection-Citation database for the period (1970–2020), we conducted a dynamic visual systematic review of the literature on academic publishing with the help of bibliometric software, CiteSpace, and VOSviewer. The main purpose is to reveal the internal structures and hidden inferences, including the diversified discipline, top-ranked journals, most widely occurring topics, most cited and leading articles, highly productive and outstanding scholars, and most contributing institutions and countries. The co-citation, co-occurrence, cluster detection, and strong citation burstness were employed to show the intellectual base, evolutionary stages, and dynamics of transitions of academic publishing. The study defines the whole profile of international academic publishing, presenting its diachronic evolution, identifying research front, detecting emerging trends and abrupt changes. It expands the previous paradigm that ignored the large data corpus, aiming to provide certain reference value for future research of academic publishing.

Abstract: Job insecurity has become one of the most prominent job stressors for employees. This study focuses on qualitative job insecurity (QJI) and its spillover effects to the family domain. Despite a positive association between QJI and work-to-family conflict revealed in the literature, research on why and when QJI is related to work-to-family conflict is limited. Drawing from Conservation of Resources theory, this paper empirically examines the mediating role of negative affective process underlying the relationship between QJI and work-to-family conflict as well as the moderating role of core self-evaluations in this process. A four-wave survey study was conducted in a sample of 126 Chinese employees. The results showed that psychological contract violation and job dissatisfaction mediated the relationship between QJI and work-to-family conflict. Unexpectedly, core self-evaluations were found to strengthen (not attenuate) the positive relationships of QJI with employee psychological contract violation and job dissatisfaction.

Abstract: The present research examined the perceived teachers & rsquo; charismatic leadership and entrepreneurial intentions of college students. Based on the theory of emotional contagion, this study proposes a mediating model of entrepreneurial passion between college students & rsquo; perception of teachers & rsquo; charismatic leadership and entrepreneurial intentions. A questionnaire survey was conducted in 420 college students in Jiangsu Province, China. The results showed that college students & rsquo; perceived teachers & rsquo; charismatic leadership had a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial passion. Moreover, perceived teachers & rsquo; charismatic leadership of college students was found to have a significant positive predictive effect on entrepreneurial intentions, and entrepreneurial passion had a significant positive effect on entrepreneurial intentions. The mediation model analysis indicated that entrepreneurial passion played a partial mediating role between college students & rsquo; perception of teachers & rsquo; charismatic leadership and entrepreneurial intentions. The study results deepened our understanding of the inner influence mechanism of college students & rsquo; perception of teachers & rsquo; charismatic leadership and entrepreneurial intentions, in addition to providing a practical basis for college educators.

Abstract: This paper considers an online retailer and his or her manufacturer, both facing financial constraints and wishing to get loans from their e-commerce platform-backed finance company. Based on shared transaction data and monitored sales accounts, a tripartite loan contract is proposed to coordinate three parties’ actions in this supply chain financing problem. We prove that the proposed loan contract aligns the decentralized decision-makings of each party and duplicates the optimal channel performance under a fully integrated decision-making framework. A case study is then conducted to illustrate the performance of the proposed loan contract. The result shows that the proposed loan contract outperforms wholesale-price contracts, where coordination does not take place, and buyback contracts, where coordination happens between the retailer and the manufacturer only. Furthermore, a sensitivity analysis reveals that profit allocations among the lender, the retailer, and the manufacturer resulted from the proposed loan contract are more balanced when the cost-to-retail ratio or risk premium is high.

Abstract: Characterized with in-depth interactions and self-reflections, slow tourism has been gaining growing popularity in recent years thanks to the importance attached to quality of life and self-actualization of tourists in the post modern era, which has all been necessitated by the challenges wrought by the Covid-19 pandemic. In response to the current research lacuna of competitiveness analyses of specialized small-scale destinations, this study comprehensively proposes and empirically evaluates the competitiveness of slow tourism destinations as indicated by the values perceived by the slow tourists, and explores the mechanism of competitiveness of slow tourism destinations with investigation of the interrelationships between competitiveness and tourist attitude, consumption emotion and behavioral intentions through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The Gaochun District, which was the first accredited Cittàslow in China, was selected as the research site. Findings yielded four major competitiveness dimensions of community ambiance and service, tourist, and comprehensive management, cultural resources and values and natural resources and protection, and confirmed that perceived values are positively related to attitude, consumption emotion, and behavioral intentions. In addition to offering a valid scale measuring the competitiveness of slow tourism destinations, this study suggests the integration of cultural components in better planning and management of slow tourism destinations.

Abstract: This study employs high-dimensional factors model to depict the development of monetary policy uncertainty (MPU) in China over the past decades and develops a logical analytical framework to analyze the effect of MPU on the dynamic adjustment of a firm’s capital structure through bank risk-taking channels. We investigate how MPU affects dynamic adjustment of a firm’s capital structure using a panel data set of China public manufacturers between 2007 and 2018 and find that the higher the MPU, the more detrimental it is to the dynamic adjustment of firm’s capital structure. Further, bank risk-taking plays the role of a financial stabilizer. In addition to the willingness to take risks in on-balance sheet operations and the scale of loans, the risk-taking of our banks may also be reflected in the adjustment of the off-balance-sheet shadow banking scale. This study also finds that in terms of on-balance sheet business, heighten MPU decreases the scale of bank credit and tightens loan approval criteria, in terms of off-balance sheet business, heighten MPU decreases the scale of shadow banking, thereby leading to a lower dynamic adjustment of firm’s capital structure. Abstract: This meta-analysis aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of team-based learning in radiology education. Data sources and selection criteria Databases were searched from inception up to August 2019 and included Pubmed, Medline, Embase, China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI), Chinese Wanfang Database, and Chinese VIP. Randomized trials comparing teaching approaches for medical imaging of which provide the outcomes of theoretical scores and/or practical scores were included. Data were extracted independently by two authors and double-checked for accuracy. Outcomes included knowledge scores and practical scores. We pooled data using random-effects meta-analysis. Twelve trials involving 1,371 participants were included. Team-based learning teaching method had positive impacts on theoretical scores compared with the lecture-based learning or traditional teaching method (SMD = 1.07, 95% CI [0.50, 1.63]) and it positively improved skill scores (SMD = 0.68, 95% CI [0.19, 1.17] ). Team-based learning could not only improve theoretical and skill scores in medical imaging courses but also encourage students to learn by themselves. Participants believed team-based learning raised their learning interest, team cooperation ability, and interpersonal communication skills. The heterogeneity of the included studies must be noticed and large well-designed and well-conducted trials are urgently needed.

Abstract: Aim/Purpose: International PhD students suffer a lot of stress. However, many studies about international students focus on identifying the stressors these students experience rather than the stress-coping strategies, and those that explore international students’ coping behaviour often report maladjustments. Background: This study intended to fill the research gap by examining the strategies that Chinese students employed to psychologically adjust to their PhD study. Methodology: Narrative inquiry method was employed to give voice to the research participants. Six Chinese doctoral students in social sciences in Australian universities were purposefully sampled and interviewed three times during their candidature in order to gain an in-depth understanding of their lived experiences of stress-coping. Contribution: This paper provides positive stress-coping strategies used by six Chinese doctoral students, which can be used by international doctoral students or those who work with doctoral students from abroad to improve their psychological well-beings. Findings: These Chinese PhD students adopted positive stress-coping strategies of regulating their emotions and retaining their motivation. They adopted illusory and interpretive forms of secondary control by reframing realities to obtain psychological peace when faced with stress. The ways that Chinese PhD students handled stress suggest that the Chinese moral education and the characteristic motivation for learning attributed them with positive personal characteristics to battle the adverse conditions. Recommendations for Practitioners: Institutions/departments can initiate support groups for PhD students from the same disciplines where students can express their stress, seek assistance from senior doctoral students and exchange their strategies. Institutions/departments can also support international doctoral candidates by taking a more flexible approach to policies and procedures concerning doctoral students taking leave both in terms of when it is taken and the duration. Recommendation for Researchers: Researchers can focus on international doctoral students’ positive stress-coping experiences as well as negative experiences to present a balanced picture of the doctoral journey. Impact on Society: The findings from this research on doctoral students’ stress-coping can equip doctoral students with strategies to handle their psychological challenges, which in turn may enhance their overseas doctoral experiences, reduce the dropout rates, and raise awareness of supervisors and institutions about doctoral students’ psychological well-beings. Future Research: Future research can examine the stress-coping experiences of other international doctoral students, focusing not only from the individual psychological angle but from the academic and social perspectives.
