Abstract: Introduction: The efficacy of ginger supplementation remains controversial for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. We conduct this meta-analysis to explore the influence of ginger supplementation versus placebo on the treatment of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Methods: We have searched PubMed, EMbase, Web of science, EBSCO, and Cochrane library databases through November 2021 and included randomized controlled trials (RCTs) assessing the efficacy of ginger supplementation versus placebo for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. This meta-analysis was performed using the random-effect model. Results: Four RCTs involving 177 patients were included in the meta-analysis. Overall, compared with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, ginger supplementation was associated with significantly reduced alanine aminotransferase (ALT, standard mean difference (SMD)=-0.43; 95% confidence interval [CI]=-0.85 to -0.02; P=0.04), homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR, SMD =-1.14; 95% CI=-2.05 to -0.22; P=0.02), but revealed no obvious impact on aspartate-aminotransferase (AST, SMD=-0.66; 95% CI=-0.81 to 2.12; P=0.38), total cholesterol (SMD=-0.33; 95% CI=-0.67 to 0.02; P=0.06), low density lipoprotein (LDL, SMD=-0.30; 95% CI=-0.64 to 0.04; P=0.08) or body mass index (BMI, SMD=0; 95% CI=-0.41 to 0.40; P=0.99). Conclusions: Ginger supplementation benefits to treat non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Keywords: ginger; non-alcoholic fatty liver disease; randomized controlled trials; meta-analysis.

Abstract: In recent years, interactive multimedia guides have become increasingly common in museums, exhibition spaces, and tourist attractions. Over the past decade, Hsin Beitou government and local residents have launched a series of reform movements for local tourism. During the research process, it was found that the current planning of attractions lacks pre-tour guidance and itinerary arrangements. In on-site surveys, tourists expressed uncertainty about the route guidance of the attractions, and their itineraries usually began upon arrival at the destination or by searching for fragmented video materials beforehand. Through this research, the design of different types of videos, including narrative attraction animation videos, influencer videos focusing on attractions, and videos solely introducing attractions, were explored to investigate their impact on viewer attitudes and travel motivations.Previous studies have mainly focused on one-sided tourism discussions. This thesis, however, conducted field surveys, preliminary studies, and interviews to connect cultural and historical tourist attractions into a complete narrative-guided video. Drawing on literature research and analysis of narrative transportation theory, story-based tourism marketing, and video tourism, the thesis designed a video that provides clear and concise travel guidance, saving tourists' time. The 3 types of videos, including narrative animated tour video, influencer tour video and attraction introduction video were provided for tourists to explore the impact of these 3 videos on their travel motivations and the narrative transportation effectiveness. The study employed a questionnaire based on the narrative transportation theory and Likert 5-point scale to understand the satisfaction of the participants with the narrative-guided video and their motivation to visit the attractions.Based on literature research, this study connected significant attractions of Hsin Beitou area to create a narrative-guided video called "Hsin Beitou Healing Notebook". The content of the video was designed according to Gerrig's TIM scale, which includes The TIM scale included 11absorption propensity items and one imagery ability item capturing its major dimensions of cognitive, affective, and imagery involvement. The narrative of the video focused on a Japanese wounded soldier revisiting old sites in Hsin Beitou and recalling his experiences of healing after World War II. From this narrative, nine highlights of Hsin Beitou tourism were identified. The study applied narrative transportation theory to tourism, examining the impact of video design on tourists' travel motivations, using narrative-guided video design as the research method.

Abstract: Contrary to media arguments that Chinese migration to Africa is part of a Chinese state project, the vast majority of new Chinese migrants in South Africa arrived (or made decisions to stay) independently, motivated by their desires to improve their lives. Newer Chinese migrants tend to follow paths cut by those who came earlier; some of these earlier migrants from the PRC came with Taiwanese businesses or state-owned enterprises. Today’s Chinese migrants are quite diverse: they come from various parts of China, with different levels of education and experience, and from different class backgrounds. Migration processes and migration successes are linked to sending country, receiving country and global conditions; however, Chinese migrants themselves play an integral role in shaping perceptions, constructing new identities and changing spaces, giving substance to the idea of a “global south”.

Abstract: Against the background of “Internet plus,” western countries have taken a lead in modernizing educational management technology to fit the times. The application of education management technology in China is in a period of rapid development. There are certain differences between China and western countries. In order to adapt to the intelligent trend of contemporary education management reform and improve the national macro education management level, there should be cross-cultural thinking on the differences in the development of educational management technology capabilities between China and the West. Based on the literature analysis of Chinese and Western education management technology and education management theory, and based on the research data of 8 domestic colleges and universities education management technology, we explored the development differences between China and the West in teaching evaluation, multimedia teaching, and teaching decision-making. The results showed that ideology, national conditions and technology are the main influencing factor of the differences in the development of educational management technology capabilities between China and the West. We need to create a cross-cultural education concept conflict, cross-cultural perspective to re-plan the teacher’s positioning, and fundamentally change the concept of teachers to accept Western education management models in China. The application proportion of education management technology should be allocated based on the actual teaching situation, to increase the teaching utilization rate of multimedia equipment, and reduce unnecessary multimedia teaching. Data-driven intelligent teaching decision-making technology should be developed to guide teaching behavior scientifically and efficiently. Finally, we should construct a modern management system in line with national conditions, as well as narrow the gap between Chinese and western educational management.

Abstract: From the 1990s, the number of cross-border marriages between Southeast Asians and citizens of Taiwan has been gradually increasing. Such marriages are typically between women from Southeast Asian nations and Taiwanese men. Today, such women, referred to as Taiwan New Immigrant Females (TNIFs), and their children outnumber Taiwan’s total aboriginal population. However, despite their large numbers, TNIFs suffer from stigmatization in Taiwan. This paper adopts ethnographic approaches to explore the ethnic identity of TNIFs to better understand their status in Taiwan. It is expected that the findings might contribute to an improved understanding of Taiwan’s immigrant populations as well as contributing to migration studies in general. The findings indicate that interaction with their Taiwan family members plays a significant role in their identity construction, in addition to policy development and societal perceptions. Those who feel cherished by their Taiwanese family tend to have a positive identity and take pride in their ethnic language, dress and food. Others say they feel alienated by a lack of appreciation of their efforts on the part of their Taiwan family and society at large. However, many indicate that they feel the recent policy changes reflect the fact that Taiwanese society has become more welcoming to them, which has had a positive effect on their personal ethnic identity.
