Kurzfassung: The assurance of human rights to a healthy and high-quality life is intrinsically linked to the ecological environment and the state policies governing this domain. This article advocates for the essentiality of directly embedding a range of norms from international legal documents concerning ecology and natural resource management into the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The aim is to establish a firm and cohesive stance on the fundamental principles of environmental protection in concert with the global community. The proposed international norms will lay the groundwork for contemporary principles and mechanisms in formulating a national strategy and shaping the internal ecological legislation within the Republic of Uzbekistan. Furthermore, the article explores the potential benefits and challenges of integrating these norms into the national legal framework, examining the role of international cooperation and the ways in which Uzbekistan can contribute to global environmental conservation efforts.

Kurzfassung: Responsibility and sustainability play a larger role in the activities of global businesses. The practice of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) can be used to promote more responsible and sustainable behavior. PT PLN Indonesia Power PLTGU Cilegon OMU is a sub holding of an Indonesian state-owned corporation committed to fostering a responsible and sustainable culture through CSR. The old CSR program in Margasari village, the company’s first ring area, must be replaced because it has come to its exit time. Based on the Social Mapping Document 2022 and interviews, a SWOT analysis is conducted taking into account the current situation of the community. The analysis indicates that a new sewing group named Pujasari could be implemented as the new CSR program in the village of Margasari. Nevertheless, since a CSR program is a social investment, the company must be confident in the program’s future return for the community. This study aims to determine the program’s economic feasibility, Social Return on Investment (SROI) value, variables that may influence SROI achievement, and contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). In calculating SROI, the triple bottom line concept will be used, while the economic feasibility will use capital budgeting method. A sensitivity analysis will be conducted to determine the critical variable for achieving SROI. The study demonstrates that the calculation utilizing the triple bottom line concept (considering economic, social, and environmental benefit) over a 5-year project period yields an NPV of IDR 1,988 mio, an IRR of 109%, with a WACC of 13.349%. The program’s SROI is 20.39, indicating that for every IDR 1 invested by the company in this program, IDR 20.39 in social benefit will be generated. Analysis of sensitivity reveals that WACC, the selling price of rags, working productivity, and price of rag primary materials are, in order, the most sensitive variables affecting the project’s SROI value. In addition, the program demonstrates contribution to SDGs 1, 5, 8, 12, and 13.

Kurzfassung: Bangladesh is eminent in a very difficult situation regarding the Rohingya refugee crisis and their repatriation, and it practices balanced diplomacy, while her neighboring countries remain silent on the Rohingya problem. Bangladesh, as a host country for 1.1 million Rohingya refugees, faces environmental deterioration in terms of shelter, sanitation, and water management, among other things, due to the destruction of forest and hills. It must repatriate the Rohingya to their motherland in order to do this. This research looks at common long-term responses to the refugee crisis in Bangladesh, as well as the attitudes and behaviors of displaced Rohingyas. It claims that finding long-term solutions for Rohingya refugees through repatriation, integration, or resettlement in their home, host, and third countries is nearly impossible, but there are geographical as well as global challenges. In this case, there is a chance of repatriation in the immediate future, but it would be a small population relative to the total number of refugees. Since Bangladesh and Myanmar have been working together in a joint working group (JWG) since January 2018 to find solutions to the Rohingya crisis and repatriation, this process is still ongoing. This research aims to depict the potential challenges of repatriation of Rohingya refugee from Bangladesh.

Kurzfassung: Neighbourhood security has become a global concern with negative psychological effects especially anxiety and fear. The retirees who are mostly older adults perceive themselves as easy targets; and are more conscious of environmental safety and dissonance as these affect their lives. This study, therefore, investigated psycho-sociological determinants of retirees’ perception on neighbourhood security in Ibadan, Nigeria. The simple random sampling technique was utilised to select 200 retirees. The study utilised and adopted scales: perceived neighbourhood security α =.76, security awareness α =.91, personal safety α =.88, neighbourhood connectedness α =.88, burnout α =.71, quality of life α =.83; and socio-economic status. Three research questions were answered using Pearson Product Moment Correlation and Multiple Regression Analysis at 0.05 level of significance. Analyses showed that neighbourhood connectedness (r =.979, p 〈 0.05), burnout (r =.302, p 〈 0.05), quality of life (r =.964, p 〈 0.05) and socio-economic status (r =.641, p 〉 0.05) had significant relationships on retirees’ perception of neighbourhood security. Similarly, security awareness (r =.073, p 〉 0.05), personal safety (r =.011, p 〉 0.05) and gender (r =.050, p 〉 0.05) had significant relationships on retirees’ perception of neighbourhood security. The entire independent variables accounted for jointly accounted for 96.2% variance in determining retirees’ perception of neighbourhood security. These are discussed with their implications on neighbourhood security as it related to retirees. The study makes some recommendations that could impact on neighbourhood security management in Nigeria.

Kurzfassung: This research paper delves into the critical intersection of green hotel practices and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) within the context of India. Focusing on four SDGs—Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), Affordable and Clean Energy (SDG 7), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Climate Action (SDG 13)—the study explores the perceptions of environmental management representatives in India’s four and five-star hotels. Through a comprehensive analysis of survey data from 32 participants, the research uncovers a multifaceted landscape where proactive engagement with green practices is evident. Key findings reveal that hotels in India have a commendable commitment to environmental sustainability, actively aligning with these SDGs. Notable practices include the adoption of energy-efficient technologies, waste reduction and responsible waste management, and proactive steps in climate change mitigation. However, challenges persist, particularly concerning the limited adoption of renewable energy sources, such as solar and wind power. This study offers a nuanced perspective on the hotel industry’s contribution to SDGs, underscoring both commendable achievements and areas for further improvement. The findings hold valuable implications for policymakers, hoteliers, and sustainability advocates, emphasizing the industry’s pivotal role in achieving global sustainability objectives.
