Description:
Für 4 weitere Arten werden die Namen A. agile nov. spec., A. gelatinovorum nov. spec., A. kieliense nov. spec. und A. aggregatum nov. spec. vorgeschlagen.
From the Western Baltic a number of star-forming bacteria were isolated in pure culture and classified. 28 strains were included within the genus Agrobacterium, family Rhizobiaceae. Of these several brown, red and yellow isolates could be assigned lo the species Agrobacterium stellulatum STAPP and KNÖSEL 1954 and A. ferrugineum, A. sanguineum or A. luteun AHRENS and RHEINHEIMER 1967. For another 4 strains the following names are proposed: A. agile nov. spec., A. gelatinovorum nov. spec., A. kieliense nov. spec., and A. aggregatum nov. spec. Morphology, star-formation and physiology of the Agrobacterium spp. are described. The DNA base composition of five strains was found to range from 57 to 64 moles per cent guanine plus cytosine.
