    Abstract: Human non–small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is one of the most common malignancies in the modern world. Its recurrence is mainly due to its ability to invade and metastasize. However, the precise mechanism for tumor development and metastasis is still not fully understood. To shed light on the development of lung cancer, the human giant cell lung carcinoma cell lines 95D with high metastatic potential and 95C with low metastatic potential were selected in this study. The 2 cell lines originated from the same parental cell and share a similar genetic background. In the current study, we identified 3 differentially expressed proteins in 95C and 95D cell lines, namely, PAI-RBP1, C1orf142, and COTL1, by using 2-dimensional electrophoresis proteomics analysis. We found that PAI-RBP1 and C1orf142 expression levels were higher in 95D than in 95C cells, whereas COTL1 expression level was lower in 95D when compared to 95C cells. We also confirmed these results by reverse transcription–polymerase chain reaction and immunoblotting analyses. The messenger RNA and protein levels of PAI-RBP1 and C1orf142 were much higher in 95D than in 95C cells, and COTL1 expression level was lower in 95D than in 95C cells. The PAI-RBP1 expression was assessed by immunohistochemistry in 70 NSCLC and 7 normal lung tissue samples from patients. PAI-RBP1 expression level was higher in tumor tissues (positive staining in 87.1% of cases [61/70]) than in normal tissues (positive staining in 14.3% of cases [1/7] ). In conclusion, by studying protein expression in NSCLC cell lines with high and low metastasis as well as in human lung cancer tissues, we have identified 3 proteins, namely, PAI-RBP1, C1orf142, and COTL1, which were differentially expressed in NSCLC cell lines with different metastatic potential. In addition, we also found that PAI-RBP1 might contribute to NSCLC development.

    Abstract: Sihailongwan Maar Lake, located in Northeast China, is a candidate Global boundary Stratotype Section and Point (GSSP) for demarcation of the Anthropocene. The lake’s varved sediments are formed by alternating allogenic atmospheric inputs and authigenic lake processes and store a record of environmental and human impacts at a continental-global scale. Varve counting and radiometric dating provided a precise annual-resolution sediment chronology for the site. Time series records of radioactive ( 239,240 Pu, 129 I and soot 14 C), chemical (spheroidal carbonaceous particles, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, soot, heavy metals, δ 13 C, etc.), physical (magnetic susceptibility and grayscale) and biological (environmental DNA) indicators all show rapid changes in the mid-20th century, coincident with clear lithological changes of the sediments. Statistical analyses of these proxies show a tipping point in 1954 CE. 239,240 Pu activities follow a typical unimodal globally-distributed profile, and are proposed as the primary marker for the Anthropocene. A rapid increase in 239,240 Pu activities at 88 mm depth in core SHLW21-Fr-13 (1953 CE) is synchronous with rapid changes of other anthropogenic proxies and the Great Acceleration, marking the onset of the Anthropocene. The results indicate that Sihailongwan Maar Lake is an ideal site for the Anthropocene GSSP.

    Abstract: A complete methodology for an unmanned coaxial rotor helicopter with unstructured uncertainties was proposed to achieve high-accuracy tracking performance from modelling to robust control. An integrative approach was introduced to systematically construct a whole dynamic model. The key parameters were selected carefully after iteratively being checked by empirical coefficients to decrease the budget and risk of programme. Moreover, a new control scheme is proposed to simultaneously incorporate six inputs to control six states based on the investment of singularity value responses and the general rule of relative gain array. Coprime factor uncertainty model is considered to represent a class of unstructured uncertainties, such as unmolded actuator dynamics and unpredicted interferences between two rotors. Furthermore, the [Formula: see text] loop-shaping control was proposed to apply the control design of the coaxial rotor helicopter to manage complicated uncertainties and multivariable coupling. Finally, simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed controller design in the step response of the closed loop. The stable closed-loop plant is achieved and the tolerant size of unstructured uncertainty is up to 36.09%. Good step responses and satisfied decoupling were also investigated in detail.

    Abstract: The eosinophil (Eo) activation is a crucial factor evoking allergic rhinitis (AR) attacks; factors; the mechanism of triggering Eo activation remains to be further investigated. The interaction of antigen (Ag) and antibody plays a critical role in evoking allergy attacks. This study aims to elucidate the role of FcγRI, the high affinity receptor of IgG, in the Ag-mediated Eo activation. Methods Nasal lavage fluids (NLF) were collected from AR patients and healthy control (HC) subjects. Eos were isolated by flow cytometry cell sorting and analyzed by pertinent immunological approaches. Results Eos composed more than 60% of the cellular components in AR NLF. Exposure to specific Ags (sAgs) in the culture triggered Eos to release inflammatory mediators. High levels of FcγRI were detected on the surface of AR NLF Eos. Exposure to lipopolysaccharide markedly increased the FcγRI expression in naive Eos, which could be bound by Ag-specific IgG (sIgG) to form complexes on the surface of Eos; this made Eos at the sensitized status. Eos bore with the sIgG/FcγRI complexes could be activated upon exposure to sIgG in the culture; these Eos can be designated as Ag-specific Eos. Passive transfer of Ag-specific Eos resulted in profound AR response in mice upon sAg challenge. Depletion of FcγRI on Eos efficiently abolished AR response in mice. Conclusions AR Eos express high levels FcγRI, that can be bound by sIgG to make Eos sensitized. Re-exposure to specific Ags can activate the sensitized Eos.

    Abstract: Angiomyolipoma is an extremely rare, benign mesenchymal tumor of the nasal cavity, primarily common in the kidney and secondarily common in the liver. According to the author’s knowledge, no cases of angiomyolipoma of the nasal septum have been identified to date. We report a case of a patient with a giant angiomyolipoma at the posterior end of the nasal septum who recovered after surgery without any complication.

    Abstract: Prunellae Spica (PS), the dry spikes of Prunella vulgaris L., is a medicinal herb widely distributed in Asia and Europe. As a traditional Chinese medicine, PS has been used for the treatment of mastitis, infectious hepatitis, and hypertension. The oral solution and some compounds (polysaccharide, ursolic acid, and betulinic acid) of PS have been reported to show activities against breast cancer. In this study, Michigan Cancer Foundation-7 (MCF-7) cell extraction coupled with high-performance liquid chromatography-electrospray ionization-tandem mass spectrometry (HPLC-ESI-MS/MS) analysis was applied to screen for potential antibreast cancer ingredients from PS. Protocatechuic acid (1), protocatechualdehyde (2), caffeic acid (3), and rosmarinic acid (4) were identified as high-affinity components. The cytotoxic activities of these compounds were evaluated in MCF-7 cells using Cell Counting Kit-8 assay. All the compounds displayed cytotoxicity to MCF-7 cells, but protocatechualdehyde and caffeic acid exhibited significant cytotoxicity with half-maximal inhibitory concentration values of 10.9 μM and 26.8 μM, respectively. This study provides the first report of the successful usage of cell extraction coupled with LC-MS/MS to screen active ingredients from PS. This method can be used as a screening tool for bioactive constituents in natural products.

    Abstract: This paper proposes VDStream, a new effective method, to discover arbitrary shape clusters over variable density data streams. The algorithm can reduce the influence of history data and effectively eliminate the interference of noise data. When the density of data streams changes, VDStream can dynamically adjust the parameters of density to find precise clusters. Experiments demonstrate the effectiveness and efficiency of VDStream.

    Abstract: Pitch-based carbon fiber, as one of the important engineering materials, has been widely used in aerospace, defense, sports, and other fields. In the long production process of pitch-based carbon fiber, the property of pitch precursor is significant for the mechanical performance of obtained carbon fiber. Thus, it is crucial to improve the property of pitch precursor by efficient means. Halogenation–dehalogenation is a newly developed method for the controllable synthesis of a pitch precursor from the molecular dimension, including fluorination–defluorination, chlorination–dechlorination, and bromination–debromination. This work reviewed the mechanism and application, as well as the advantages and disadvantages of each halogenation–dehalogenation method.

    Abstract: This study systematically reviewed scientific literature regarding the effects of the FIFA 11+ intervention on the change of direction (COD) performance in soccer and futsal players. We conducted a keyword search on June 30, 2020, in SPORTDiscus, PubMed, Web of Science, Academic Search Complete, Scopus, CINAHL, and Google Scholar. We performed a meta-analysis to estimate the pooled effect size of FIFA 11+ interventions on COD performance. Sixteen RCTs studies met the eligibility criteria and were included in this review. Compared to the control group, the FIFA 11+ intervention yielded a 0.87 standard deviation (95% CI = 0.52, 1.21; I 2  = 96.2%) decrease in the time of COD task completion in soccer and futsal players. In addition, there were no differential effects of the FIFA 11+ intervention compared to the control group in COD performance enhancement among age, gender, athletic level, sport, intervention frequency, intervention duration, and measure covariates. In conclusion, the FIFA 11+ intervention is effective in improving the COD performance of soccer and futsal players. Future studies should recruit large representative samples from professional soccer or futsal teams and examine the effectiveness of the FIFA 11+ intervention on the COD performance among population subgroups (e.g., by age and gender). Studies focusing on different COD tests are warranted to deepen the understanding of the FIFA 11+ intervention effects on the COD performance.
