Abstract: Research object is the labor potential of food industry enterprises. In the article researched branch specifics and justified approaches to forming the labor potential of food industry enterprises. The main problems for labor potential forming in modern conditions development of economic relations have been researched. The essence of the enterprise's labor potential and the main directions of its formation are determined by summarizing scientific research results. Enterprise labor potential is a systematic set of human resources, their competencies, opportunities and conditions for the realization of their labor abilities, which are available or can be mobilized in the nearest future to achieve business entity goals. It has been proven that the process labor potential forming of food industry enterprises should take place in its components context: labor resources, their competencies, opportunities and conditions for the implementation of labor activity. The key provisions regarding to use a resource and competence approach labor potential formation of the enterprise are proposed. The process of forming the competences of enterprises and their personnel has a strategic nature, since it can be implemented only in the long term with the use of strategic management tools. Modern trends in character changing for participation in economic processes of engineering and technological workers and specialists in the economic profile are characterized. The need to identify and implement external opportunities and create internal conditions based on them to realize business entity labor potential is substantiated. The sectoral features labor potential formation in the food industry are determined, taking into account the need for the social responsibility development for personnel and enterprises placement factors. It was researched how the processes of labor potential formation affect the main performance parameters of food industry enterprises. So, the determining role labor potential in providing the effectiveness functioning of food industry enterprises has been proven and the main approaches for its formation have been substantiated, considering the opportunities and limitations that exist in modern conditions.

Abstract: This article considers the current problems of near-critical flows. It provides short characteristics of each phenomenon and describes the cases of near-critical flow formation during the operation of the different hydraulic structures. Each of the considered phenomena has a number of characteristic features which distinguish them from the usual subcritical and supercritical flows with smooth or slowly varied movement. Such properties include the wave-like or roller nature of free-surface curves, the presence of a streamline inclination and curvature, and also a non-hydrostatic pressure distribution in depth mainly in the vertical cross-section of these phenomena. Therefore, during mathematical and numerical simulations at the designing stage of hydraulic structures it is necessary to take into account the additional parameters which characterise the particularities of near-critical flows. In cases in which these moments are neglected, there are many cases of accidents and damage being caused to structures which are operated in conditions of near-critical flow formation. An objective of this work is to provide a detailed analysis of the particularities of near-critical flows and show their negative consequences on hydraulic structures. The article presents the results of the mathematical and hydraulic simulation of wavelike near-critical flows and a comparison of the full-scale measurement and a mathematical model of translation waves.

Abstract: Every country takes care of energy independence and security by using different energy sources and remarkably increasing electricity production by renewable energy sources. Ukraine is not an exception, especially when the energy infrastructure is significantly damaged during the war and there is a lack of capacities in the energy system. Because of this, the Government of Ukraine is planning a number of measures to launch systems of domestic mini-power plants.Ukraine has favourable conditions for developing the network of small-scale hydropower plants. While the hydropower potential of the largest Ukrainian rivers is used, the potential of small rivers is used only partially. The small-scale hydropower plants were built during the last century very actively. In 1912 the first small-scale hydropower plant was built. From 1923 to 1960, there were 956 hydropower plants with different capacities from a few kW to a few MW. However, at the end of the 1980s, the interest in small hydro decreased because of the construction of the large hydropower plants in the river Dniester and Dnipro, heat and nuclear power plants. Only 49 plants were in operation. Since 1995 the interest in small hydro has increased again. Nowadays, there are about 150 hydropower plants in operation. The paper examines the past and present state of small hydropower plants and perspectives on their development in the future, both by building new or reconstructing existing power plants. The list of hydropower plants with a short description of possible reconstruction is given. Moreover, the way of reducing the negative influence of hydropower plants on the environment is studied. Taking into account the energy issues in Ukraine, the possibilities of off-grid operation of hydropower plants are considered. The importance of energy security was evident from the issues that Ukraine is recently facing. Building new and reconstructing old small-scale hydropower plants will help to ensure the energy security of other types of electricity generation.

Abstract: The share of electricity generation by small hydropower plants is the least among other renewable energy sources in Ukraine, although the SHPPs were widely operated in the past. The aim of the article is to analyse the hydropotential of Ukrainian rivers and review the past and present states of small hydropower engineering in Ukraine. Moreover, the article emphasizes the main directions and gives recommendations for hydropower development in Ukraine considering ecological, economic, energy and legal issues.
