Notes: [Auszug] Fig. 1 It is clear from radiation considerations that during an eclipse the temperature 2\ of the bases of the indentations of our model vary very much less than will the temperature T2 of the upper surfaces. Eclipse measurements1'2 show a greater variation of effective temperature for regions ...

Notes: [Auszug] Gravitational formulations of Mach's Principle4 5 assume that the dynamical properties of a body are due to the gravitational interaction of the body with the matter composing the rest of the universe. The resulting gravitational potential of the body becomes a function of its velocity, so that the ...

Notes: Abstract This paper considers three hypotheses for the origin of the shapes of the regular elongated prolate and dumbbell-shaped lunar glass globules. These are the break-up of a jet, the vibration-freezing hypothesis and the rotational hypothesis. It is concluded that there are many results favouring the latter hypothesis so that its validity now appears conclusive. Applications of the hypothesis as a tool in lunar science are briefly discussed.
