Abstract:
The land surface nonuniform warming near 50°N of East Asia bears a close relationship with anomalous weak summer extratropical cyclones Warm land surface can reduce the meridional temperature gradient and the atmospheric baroclinicity and further weaken cyclone activity Land surface warming can depress the baroclinic conversion and decrease the eddy kinetic energy, resulting in weakened cyclone activity
