Abstract: According to the plan of scientific conferences of the Ministry of Health of Russia for 1999, on November 17-19, 1999 in Kazan at the Clinical Oncological Center (CTC) of the Ministry of Health of Tatarstan the II All-Russian School-Seminar on Immunohistochemical Diagnostics of Tumors was held. The seminar was organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan, KOTs M3 of Tatarstan, employees of the Department of Pathological Anatomy of KSMU, together with scientists from the Oncological Scientific Center named after N.N. Blokhin Russian Academy of Medical Sciences (Moscow), MMA them. Sechenov, MONIKI them. Vladimirsky (Moscow) and took place in the Kazan sanatorium "Livadia". The general sponsor of the seminar was the Finbio company. The "Labmethod" company (Moscow) also rendered sponsorship support. The school participants were 27 oncomorphologists from various cities of Russia - Moscow, St. Petersburg, Obninsk, Rostov-on-Don, Omsk, Saratov, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Ulyanovsk, Khabarovsk, Barnaul, Krasnodar, as well as pathologists from Kazan ...

Abstract: Background . The treatment outcomes for non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) depend on the tumor stage and treatment strategy. The imaging techniques play a significant role in the diagnosis, staging and choice of appropriate treatment for NSCLC. Purpose of the study : сomparison of the diagnostic capabilities of magnetic resonance imaging (MR) and positron emission computed tomography to select the optimal approaches to early detection of spinal and pelvic bone metastases. Material and Methods . The treatment outcomes were analyzed in 71 patients with NSCLC. Spinal and pelvic bone metastases were detected in 24 patients using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and positron emission computed tomography (PET/CT). Multiple bone lesions were the most common. A total of 69 metastatic lesions were identified. To compare the capabilities of diagnostic techniques, all patients underwent PET/CT with 18 F-FDG, and MRI of the spine and pelvic bones using diffused-weighted images (DWI). Statistical data processing included the calculation of the sensitivity, specificity and diagnostic accuracy of the above techniques. Conclusion . The comparative analysis of the capabilities of modern high-tech diagnostic techniques (PET/CT with 18 F-FDG and MRI of the spine and pelvic bones with DWI) in early detection of bone metastases in patients with NSCLC, PET/CT with 18 F-FDG showed the greatest diagnostic value. However, taking into account the high sensitivity and specificity of MRI with DVI in detection of bone metastases and limited availability of PET/CT for patients, MRI with DVI is recommended to exclude bone metastases.

Abstract: AIM: to highlight modern methods of assessing the viability of the intestinal wall. MATERIALS AND METHODS: the search was made using electronic databases. We explored multiple sources, including, but not limited to, monographs, journal articles, books and websites. RESULTS: despite recent advances in scientific methods and technologies, currently the visual method remains the most popular for assessing the viability of the intestinal wall, which includes parameters such as color of the intestinal wall, peristalsis, and arterial pulsation. CONCLUSION: it would be fair to conclude that such methods as hyperspectral imaging, multimodal coherent tomography provide greater flexibility and details on the intestinal viability. However, further research is needed to determine their value in clinical practice. To the date, the most studied and applied method is fluorescent angiography, which allows to assess the viability of the intestine for most of its length.
